mistybear87 said:Ferrari is in deep trouble; first there’s that crack, and now it looks like their front wing can't even handle the load (check out this photo)

And let's not forget about that illegal exhaust...😬

But wait, take a look at this 🙂
there's an illegal little hole on top of the nose (or so they say), plus some mechanics—looks like screw threads to me—for making the front flap adjustable

If Ferrari is actually 100% ready for the season opener in Miami, I’d practically bet my life on it... though, honestly, I’ve already lost enough bets to know better. I'd probably end up getting bitten 🤣🤣🤣

If I recall correctly, those lunges are actually banned, but it looks like BMW just managed to hide them under the sidepods

If Ferrari were actually 100% ready for the season opener in Miami, I’d probably bet my right hand on it... though honestly, I’ve already lost that bet and ended up with nothing but bite marks to show for it 🤣🤣🤣

That adjustable front wing setup is actually legal for the upcoming season, though people have been arguing about it; the idea was that when those wings get smashed in the first corner—which happens more than you'd think during those chaotic opening laps—it'll take way too long to swap them out, so they added this just to create yet another headache for the crews ☕

So apparently all you have to do is hide the illegal bits well enough to pass an FIA inspection
🤣 🤣

It’s getting pretty ridiculous: BMW masks an illegal part, I wouldn't be surprised if a deep dive into that Ferrari would show about 60% of the car is illegal 😁 , then you've got Renault struggling through those endless crash tests... once the races actually start and everyone starts firing up their KERS, we'll probably see local power grids failing across the country 🤣 🤣 ...and so on and so forth

What's the consensus on this?☕
But seriously, the more I stare at this new Renault, the better it looks to me, and honestly, once they slap that skinny nose on there, it’s going to look absolutely killer.

They’re starting to look more like minor league players http://www.vincapervinca.com/webs/vi...esporgrade.jpg ☕

Williams always had the best paint jobs—classic style. It’ll be interesting to see how BMW compares the old-school, polished look against their new, "minimalist" design.

Renault is easily the best-looking car on the grid after the Williams 😛

Honestly, if you don't see it, it's just because you have zero taste 🙂

Look, Williams isn't gonna drop the full reveal on their colors and livery for the new season until later, so don't go assuming they're just sticking with an all-blue look.

Arthur Doyle70 said:The upcoming season will allow for adjustable front wing mechanics, and honestly, I’ve been chewing on this one for a bit. There’s been some chatter about why they're making this move, and if you look at the math, it seems to be about damage control. We all know how those opening laps go—it’s usually absolute chaos from the first corner onward. When cars end up in a heap of scrap metal right at the start, replacing a standard wing takes a significant amount of time. By allowing for these adjustments, they might be trying to streamline the repairs. Still, it feels like just one more layer of technical complexity being added to an already complicated sport, doesn't it?☕

Look, I know it’s perfectly legal, but I can't help but feel like they're playing around with the chemistry of things. Once they've stripped the mechanism down like that, you have to wonder what kind of experimentation is actually going on under the surface.
It seems like we’re running into more headaches than anyone actually anticipated, doesn't it?

Regardless, they'll still end up being the best looking car on the grid, don't you think?☕

they clearly ran into more headaches than they were counting on

I wouldn't be surprised if they realized while they had it back in the garage that they actually needed a few extra parts after all😬

Does Ford come with a built-in periscope now?
Since apparently having stuff like that as an optional extra is the new standard, just look at how that last race in 2008 went down.

I usually just spend my time in a sort of deep winter hibernation until the season finally kicks off.

Every now and then, I'll venture out to clear my head or grab a bite to eat. 🙏

Here are today's testing results from Austin. It looks like Williams is setting a very convincing pace 🙏 (though keep in mind Red Bull Racing is running last year's car)

Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Lap time data Red Bull-Ferrari (B) 1:27.987 128
2. Rosberg Williams-Toyota (B) 1:29.729 143
3. Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:30.242 81
4. Glock Toyota (B) 1:30.878 63
5. Alonso Renault (B) 1:31.743 84

mistybear87 As if I haven't heard this all before—it’s like watching the same rerun of a bad sitcom where you already know exactly when the punchline is going to land, only to realize it wasn't even funny the first time.
So, I just took a look at today's testing results out in Austin, and honestly, if you believe what the numbers are showing, Williams is absolutely tearing it up right now. They aren't just competitive; they're looking convincingly like the class of the field. It’s one of those situations where you have to wonder if we're actually seeing a genuine shift in the hierarchy or if it's just some early-season smoke and mirrors, but man, seeing them pull ahead like that is something else. 🙏 It looks like Red Bull Racing is out there running laps with last year’s chassis again, just to see what they can squeeze out of it.

Position | Driver | Team | Time | Laps
Lap time data shows Buemi driving that Red Bull-Ferrari (B) clocked in at a 1:27.987 after 128 laps.
Looking at the numbers, we've got Rosberg driving that Williams-Ford, clocking in at a 1:29.729 after 143 laps. It’s just one of those gritty, grind-it-out sessions where you see exactly what the car is capable of when pushed through the long haul.
Then you've got Hamilton in that McLaren-Mercedes, putting up a blistering 1:30.242 on lap 81. Honestly, watching him navigate those turns makes you realize just how much grit it takes to keep that machine on the edge without blinking.
4. Glock Ford (B) 1:30.878 63
5. Alonso Renault (B) 1:31.743 84

Look, at the end of the day, we’re still just looking at preseason testing, so let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's all just noise and data points right now. I can't help but wonder where everyone else is hiding—where are the heavy hitters like the Ferrari drivers? It feels like half the grid is missing in action while we sift through these preliminary runs. 😍
