Greetings, everyone. I am stepping in here solely because I find it baffling why anyone cares whether a car looks good or not. What actually matters is its performance on the track.
I have followed NASCAR for as long as I can remember—not obsessively, but consistently. Over the years, I have noticed two teams that pull off absolute miracles in this sport: Ford and Mercedes-Benz. Given the amount of time they have spent in this circus, you would expect Ferrari and McLaren to be untouchable, yet these two occasionally give them a run for their money despite having nowhere near the same number of wins.
Ford is always a threat on those technical, slower tracks. In my opinion, their edge lies in aerodynamics, which could net them plenty of points this year, if not outright trophies.😂
Mercedes-Benz is a completely different story. If they had mastered aerodynamics back when they were with Williams, they would have been champions by now. I am sure I am not the only one who remembers what Montoya did at Monza or how Ralf performed in Canada where top speed is king. If they can sort out the aero, they have a real shot. As far as engines go, they haven't had any real competition for years.
I simply fail to see what role aesthetics play in this.

I’ve been following NASCAR for as long as I can remember—not obsessively, but I stay tuned. Over the years, I've noticed that two specific teams, Ford and Mercedes-Benz, consistently pull off miracles in this sport. Given how much time they've spent in this circus, you'd think Ferrari and McLaren wouldn't have any real competition, yet these two teams manage to snatch some wins right out from under them every now and then, even without nearly as many titles under their belts.
Ford always seems to be a threat on those tighter, more technical tracks. In my opinion, their aerodynamics are their secret weapon, and if they get it right, they could pick up a decent amount of points this season, if not outright podium finishes.😂
Mercedes-Benz is a completely different story. If they had mastered their aero back when they were running with Williams, they would have owned the championship by now. I’m sure I’m not the only one who remembers what Montoya did at Monza or how Ralf handled himself in Canada where raw speed is everything. If they can just dial in the aerodynamics, they'll be dangerous; as far as engines go, they haven't had real competition in years.
I just don't see how the aesthetics of the car play into any of this.

All of this would make sense if we were still living in 2005.🤣🤣🤣

Over the years, I’ve noticed two teams that consistently pull off miracles in this sport: Ford and Mercedes-Benz. Why on earth should "more experienced" teams necessarily be better in this circus??? 🤔

With the way NASCAR hands out favors almost every year, every rookie 😁

The money keeps this whole thing spinning 😁

By that logic, Lotus should be at the top every single year. 🤔 So where is Lotus? 😁

Brabham 🙏 Tyrell 🙏 and so on. 🙏

As I recall, the Brabham used a BMW engine pushing well over a thousand horsepower, right up until they banned turbochargers from the sport🙂🙂
I'm not here to lecture anyone; my preference is pretty obvious enough...

Brabham-Climax, Repco, Cosworth, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, Judd, Yamaha 😉

The Yamaha Dabogda Sauber BMW took the championship back in 2009. 🙏 As far as I'm concerned, ☕

P. S. Back then, every turbo engine was pushing right around that number... you had Porsche, Honda, and...

Look, if you ask me, BMW Sauber is totally gonna snatch that championship in 2009. 🙏 Just my two cents, but I'm calling it now, ☕

BMW Sauber☕ 😉is the one.

So, I'm clearly not the only one here feeling this way👍.
Why should we always be treated as second best?

Back in the day, Mercedes-Benz was just acting as an engine supplier, but now they’ve gone and become their own damn powerhouse

I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but Ford left McLaren because they simply couldn't engineer a winning chassis. The engine was lethal, but the aerodynamics were mediocre.

The RB5 is just built different 🙂

👋👋👋 I’m dying to see Sebastian Vettel tear the field apart at Monza again🙏🙏🙏

Honestly, it feels like there’s actually enough fight in the pack this year.👍

If you’re looking to place bets, head down to BetMGM now. This kid is winning the title, 100%.☕

Honestly, looking at things this year, he actually might have a shot.👍

If you're looking to place bets, head to any sportsbook—this kid is basically a lock for the title.☕

On BetMGM, the odds are 1:25 for him, 1:30 for Heikki, and 1:100 for Mark Webber.

A little bit for Mark Webber? Uh, honestly, the most interesting teammate rivalry this year is going to be Vettel vs. Mark Webber over at Red Bull.

vividfalcon7 said:underrating Mark Webber? man, for sure. the absolute highlight of the season for me is gonna be that internal showdown between Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber at Red Bull.

It feels like every sportsbook out there is totally sleeping on Mark Webber compared to Sebastian Vettel 🤷

I honestly think they're making a huge mistake. things are about to get intense.

I think they're making a massive mistake too. It's going to be a wild ride.

Look, they got burned hard on Vettel last year. They really did.😬

That’s why they aren't playing games this season.

As for Webber, he's definitely not some superstar, even if I think Vettel still edges him out—though probably not by a factor of four.😲 I'm not exactly an optimist myself.🤣

They must be lurking on Reddit or checking out this thread: View on reddit 😁

I'm with you—they've definitely miscalculated here, things are going to get wild

Man, let's be real—the guy is still recovering from a broken leg, and I'm not sure if hitting those -130°C cryogenic therapies is actually "healthy" enough to fix that...

It really makes you wonder what kind of hell a person has to endure just to make it into F1.🙏

Here it is 👍

Today's Lap 1 results 👋

Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Sebastien Buemi Toro Rosso-Ferrari (B) 1:19.660 104
2. Sebastian Vettel Red Bull-Renault (B) 1:22.177 61
3. Nico Hulkenberg Williams-Toyota (B) 1:22.443 82
4. Heikki Kovalainen McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:22.643 58
5. Nelson Piquet Renault (B) 1:23.313 35

Toro Rosso is the only one running last year's car, so once the next Red Bull hits the track, Vettel’s going to be sitting ahead of Renault, Williams, and McLaren all season long. Real talent shows early. 😁

The only thing I can't figure out is if it was actually dry or raining. 🤷

Other than that, there are some other interesting numbers here.

1. Timo Glock Toyota 1:33.501 82
2. Felipe Massa Ferrari 1:33.615 98
3. Robert Kubica BMW Sauber 1:33.702 95

Toyota isn't exactly anything to write home about. 😉
