You might want to brush up on your basic punctuation first, and honestly, just leave the beta testers alone ☕

Hold on, what part of that was wrong? To me, those bloatwares are just pure stupidity. You install them, then you end up nuking them just to get back to a clean version of Windows XP or Vista that actually functions right. All that effort just to delete the junk so you can reinstall a full version of Windows and have a computer that works normally again... it’s just pointless...

Look, you haven't actually tested Windows 7, so you really have no idea what you're talking about here....
Some of us have actually put it through its paces and are using it right now. Most people I talk to think it’s already outperforming both Windows XP and Windows Vista, even while it's still in beta....

Some of us actually gave it a shot and we're running it right now, and honestly, most people think it beats out both XP and Windows Vista, even if it is just in beta...

yeah, yeah, I get it, it’ll probably be better than XP or Vista eventually, but what good is that to me if half my apps won't even run because this beta version is still a mess? there aren't even any decent updates yet... unless you're willing to suffer through everything just to have your system boot up 10 seconds faster, which isn't worth the headache for me. i'm just waiting for the full release before i touch it with my PC. nothing happens until then...

Seriously, why would you even bother installing a BETA version—especially an entire operating system—if you don't have a clue what you're actually getting yourself into?

Look, my job actually gives me the opportunity to be a beta tester for all of Microsoft's products...
It’s literally what I do, so I was just stating my honest opinion regarding Windows 7.....
If you aren't feeling it, then just don't install 7 and move on with your life. It's that simple.
Everyone was tearing Vista apart when it first launched, yet now about 90% of the people on this forum are using it......
The same thing will happen here; people will bash 7 and claim that Vista with SP1 was the ultimate OS, the best there ever was....

I hope you get where I'm coming from.

Look, just stop arguing about this! It’s all a matter of personal taste, even when we're talking about an operating system. I mean, Windows 7 is definitely going to be—or probably already is—an absolute top-tier OS, just like Vista or Windows XP. At the end of the day, the difference is mostly just down to us and our own individual preferences...

Look, because of my line of work, I actually get the chance to be a Beta tester for all sorts of Microsoft products...
It’s just what I do, so I was honestly just sharing my two cents on Windows 7.....
If you don't want to deal with it, then yeah—just don't install 7 and call it a day.
Everyone was trashing Vista when it first dropped, and now like 90% of the people on these forums are using it......
It’ll be the same thing with 7—people will complain now, then later they'll swear that Vista with SP1 was the greatest OS ever built....

Hope you get where I'm coming from.

Actually, I wasn't even talking to you—I was responding to this guy's comment here:
What kind of nonsense are these beta testers doing? Why even bother with beta versions? You go from version 6 to 7 and don't even know what you're supposed to be installing. Instead of dealing with all that, why not just wait for the full release and be done with it? When is a real, stable version of Windows 7 even supposed to show up???

And there's my response:
"Wait, why would anyone install a BETA version of anything—especially an OS—if they have no clue what they're getting themselves into????"

I just didn't quote him directly, that's all.

Man, it’s like he’s being forced to install the Windows 7 beta... or maybe he’s just being coerced into using Windows at all... ☕

boldcyclist11 said:Hold on, what exactly was wrong with my take? These betas are just pure nonsense. You install them, realize they're useless, and then you end up wiping your perfectly functional Windows XP or Vista just to get back to a stable build so your computer actually works again... it's just foolishness.

Honestly, the level of civility here is nonexistent, and it’s clear you’ve got that classic, narrow-minded attitude where you just lash out at anything that doesn't fit your worldview.

Look, man, like I already told you, nobody is forcing you to mess around with Windows beta builds. In fact, you should probably be grateful there are people actually using them; if it weren't for them, you'd have to spend half a month grinding away just to afford an official release, whereas now you can just grab it online for nothing, yet you still choose to complain...

Just calm down, and maybe stop trying to download things you clearly aren't sophisticated enough to handle.

Anyway, I'm going to go enjoy a cup of coffee... ☕

I honestly don't see where you're getting hung up regarding the beta process.
Sure, Microsoft has plenty of capital, but just like any major American corporation, they aren't exactly looking to burn money just for the sake of it.
They have an army of employees, obviously, but even if they had hundreds or thousands of engineers on staff, there isn't a group large enough to stress-test something as incredibly complex as an operating system.
That’s precisely why they recruit "beta testers"—people specifically tasked with poking at a product that is still very much a work in progress, hunting for bugs and identifying necessary fixes. In some cases, those folks actually get paid for their trouble.
Even then, that small pool isn't nearly enough when you consider the scale we're talking about. They release these betas to the general public to tap into millions of enthusiasts and tech hobbyists worldwide, and the OS itself is designed to automatically ping Microsoft whenever a crash or an error occurs.

I know you're itching to get your hands on Windows 7 right this second.
But you have to realize this isn't a finished product yet. Imagine if they rushed it to market only to discover a massive flaw that caused widespread data loss. You can only imagine the tidal wave of lawsuits and the absolute collapse of consumer trust in both the software and the company. I really don't understand why the concept of a beta version seems so irrational to you.
For instance, I heard a rumor that some of the early beta builds were actually corrupting users' MP3 files. Is that really something you want to see in the final release?

Besides, betas are essentially free. They give you access to the OS for a short window, and in exchange, you provide them with the testing data they need.
When the full version finally hits the shelves, you'll be paying for it, and you'll rightfully expect it to actually work. (And frankly, I'm not even going to touch the subject of piracy here.)

Jonathan Morris40 said:Man, your attitude is just top-tier... basically that classic small-town, middle-of-nowhere ignorance where you just spit on anything you don't personally understand.

Look, man, like I already told you, nobody's forcing you to install some beta Windows build. Honestly, you should be thanking the people who actually use them. If it weren't for those testers, you'd be stuck grinding at some dead-end job for half a month just to scrape together enough cash for an official version... instead, you just grab it online for free and still act like a total jerk about it.

Just chill out, seriously. If you think you're too good for it, then don't download it... simple as that.

Anyway, I'm gonna go grab a coffee and tune this out. ☕

maybe I could teach you how to actually drink coffee properly first... learn some basic life skills before you try to lecture anyone else.

I don't even know where to start with this one... just looking at the state of things makes me want to head straight for the nearest bar. Everything feels like it's circling the drain lately, doesn't it? Just constant noise and nothing actually changing... honestly, I'm exhausted. I can't even begin to explain this one... just looking at what boldcyclist11 said and honestly? It’s all just noise at this point. Everything feels like it's circling the drain... typical.
thanks for the kind words... appreciate it... 👍 Horses... man, they’re just something else. Honestly, such beautiful, damn smart creatures... sometimes you look at them and just realize how much more sense they make than most people out there... 😉

Has anyone actually managed to get a virtual CD-ROM working? Like, using something like alcohol120 or Daemon Tools...?
