So, you're asking about Vista...?

Here’s how you handle it in Windows 7:
Right-click on My Documents
Properties
Location tab
Move
Apply/OK

Thanks, man... mine was set to the D drive, but I wanted it on the E drive instead.

I'm making the jump to Windows 7, and I've got some concerns regarding software compatibility. Specifically, which of the big-name programs actually run without crashing my life? 😕
Does anyone have firsthand experience with Office 2007, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Corel, TuneUp 2009, CCleaner, Winamp, or PowerDirector? I'm looking for info on how they handle this OS compared to other popular utilities.
I'm leaning towards installing the 32-bit version of Windows 7...

I’m running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit at my place, and I can confirm that Office 2007 and CCleaner work perfectly fine on it. 👍
As for the rest of the software mentioned above, check this out:
AutoCAD (The link is right here.)
SolidWorks (I can't see any link here. You forgot to include it.)
Corel... honestly, what a joke.Link.)
TuneUp 2009.I can't see any link here. You forgot to include it.)
Winamp (The link is right here.)
PowerDirector 8 ([Link])

Everything is working perfectly fine on my end. As far as the CAD software goes, even CATIA is running flawlessly...

So, here’s my situation: I’ve been running Windows XP for about six years now, and honestly, I haven't felt any urge to make the jump to Vista 🤮... Look, I'm a gamer through and through! But at the same time, I rely on this machine for all sorts of other tasks, which means performance and software compatibility are just as vital to me as raw speed.
That brings me to my main question: Is it actually worth upgrading to Windows 7 (assuming I don't pick up a retail copy from a store)? Specifically, will my games and various programs still play nice with Windows 7?
THANKS!
(Could someone please list some solid reasons for making the move from Windows XP to Windows 7?)

Is it really that hard to scroll through this thread..?🤷
I think your questions have already been answered at least 10 times in the last 5 or 6 pages.

Are you talking about CATIA v5 R19?
What kind of rig are you running this on?
And how does everything look regarding SolidWorks and Solid Edge ST ???

goldenbear9 As specified by Noah Sanchez39:

I'm wondering if it's actually worth making the jump to Windows 7 this week—especially since I wouldn't be picking up a retail copy from the store. Does anyone know if my games and software will even run on Windows 7?
THANKS.
Can anyone list some actual reasons to ditch Windows XP for Windows 7?
Which games? Which programs? Did you even bother checking compatibility for them this week? 🤷
Is it worth it? Absolutely—even if you decide to skip the store entirely. 🙄
Look, just listen to what everyone else is saying. Scroll back through the last few pages of this subforum; you'll actually find some useful info if you bother to look. ☕

Could someone please provide some assistance? I downloaded it from the internet just yesterday 😢...burned it onto a DVD...and now it refuses to boot. Why on earth is this happening?

Maybe you didn't burn that disc right and now it’s just a glorified coaster, or—get this—you totally forgot to go into the BIOS and actually tell the damn thing to boot from the CD!
#1835 ·
I have set it up to boot from the CD or DVD drive... but now I am left wondering if I actually burned the disc correctly... how on earth am I supposed to verify that?

Noah Sanchez39 As requested:
Which games are we talking about? What kind of software? Have you actually taken the time to verify if they'll even run smoothly during this week's testing? 🤷
Is it worth it? Absolutely—even if you decide to skip the local grocery store entirely. 🙄
I would strongly suggest that you listen to the advice being offered by others here. If you take the time to scroll through the last few pages of this forum, I am certain you will find plenty of useful information. ☕
What about those standard, household-name programs? I’m talking about the essentials like CS4, Daemon Tools, 7-Zip, Sony Vegas Pro, and RocketDock...
When it comes to video games, what exactly did you have in mind? Were you referring to the upcoming releases on the horizon, or perhaps those that hit the shelves just a month or two ago?
#1838 ·
Look, I would have done the exact same thing. However, when I started the installation on my C: drive, there was never an option to format. I ended up abandoning the process halfway through because I was convinced the prompt wouldn't appear, or perhaps I simply bypassed that specific stage by mistake.

I would appreciate it if someone could explain this to me in a single, layman's sentence. I understand English perfectly fine, it’s just that I can't make heads or tails of what's being said there.
