Hmm, I remember one time back when I was still young and totally green at running ads, someone actually managed to overcharge me for a tiny little thing that ended up costing me $13 shipping $10 😬 ☕

So, listen to this—I went to the Post Office the other day, and the lady behind the counter was being absolutely difficult about my shipment. I had these sneakers all neatly packed up in a box, but she refused to just take it as a standard package! Instead, she insisted I unwrap everything, keep the box for myself at home, and shove the shoes into one of those massive oversized envelopes just so she could process it. And get this—I ended up having to pay way more for $12 shipping costs 😲 than I originally expected because of her little rule

Hey everyone, I could really use some advice here. This is my first time posting anything, so I’m a bit lost—how can I make sure the shipping costs stay as low as possible for the buyer?
A customer just ordered some pens from me, so I’ve got them packed up in a bubble mailer. What’s the cheapest way to get this through the mail? Also, what would be the best option for me personally? I want to make sure there's a solid way to guarantee I actually receive the payment once it's sent.

So, basically, the person just transfers the funds directly to your account—that would cover the cost of the pen plus the cheapest shipping option available.
In my experience, going with the budget option is usually the best way to go—it typically runs about $1.75—but there’s always that nagging uncertainty about whether it'll actually show up, you know? Honestly, I'd suggest sticking with a tracked package; the shipping for that comes out to roughly $3.25
.
Now, if you decide to go the Cash on Delivery route, the buyer just hands the mail carrier the cash for both the pen and the shipping right at the door—though, mind you, that shipping fee is probably twice what you'd pay in the first scenario—and then the mail carrier drops the cash off at your place later on.🙂

Check my bio for info. If I’m shipping via COD, they have to cover the $13 fees, so... no thanks.
I’ve decided to go with certified mail instead. Does that mean I'll get confirmation once the package actually hits their hands?

True, but hold off until you see the funds hit your account first. That’s just how business is done here in the States.

I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place to ask, but I figured I’d give it a shot... If my girlfriend sent me some money online today via Bank of America, but my own account is over at Chase, when should I expect to see those funds hit my balance? Will it show up immediately, or am I looking at waiting until Monday since we're dealing with two different banks?

Thanks

So, I’m trying to figure out who actually takes the fall when a package just vanishes into thin air after nearly a month of waiting? Like, is it even possible for stuff to just get lost in the shuffle like that?

Usually, the responsibility falls right on the USPS. Honestly, just file a claim and you'll have this sorted out in no time. If you declared the value on the package, you'll get that amount back; if not, they usually just refund you three times the shipping cost.
Just a heads up though—to actually file that claim, you're going to need your shipping receipt or proof of postage. And if you're the one waiting on the delivery, you can't really initiate the claim yourself unless the sender officially signs off on it for you.

What’s the absolute maximum size for a package if I'm sticking to that 5kg weight limit?
I've got quite a bit of stuff to ship out and I'm just trying to figure out how big my box can actually be without running into any issues...

I have quite a bit of stuff to ship and I'm not sure how big my box can actually be.

I don't know the exact specs, but from what I've seen—they can be pretty huge. 😁 I've sent massive gift boxes before filled with toys, clothes, shoes, books, you name it. Those boxes were easily three feet long and maybe a foot and a half wide, and I sent them for $15 without any issues. I don't think there's an official size limit. Just keep in mind that with bigger boxes, they usually insist on using heavy-duty tape because they're a pain to handle otherwise. But if you head down to the main USPS branch in New York, the staff there will usually just tape it up for you without charging extra. 😉👍

That’s awesome, I’m really happy to hear that 👍
It’s honestly the exact same story over here, because whenever I try to send out a larger amount of gifts, it just becomes such a massive headache... I really don't have the desire to deal with splitting everything up into ten different packages, especially since my budget is feeling a little tight this month 😬, even though I truly would love to get it all sent out

I have a question.

Does anyone here have experience using a P.O. Box?
I need to order some things, receive packages, or send gifts through online sellers, but I’m a bit hesitant about handing over my home address and personal details to total strangers.
I'm curious if anyone knows how the process works for opening a box, what the typical fees look like, and—most importantly—do you have to register under your legal name, or can you just use an alias?

I'm asking because I've had issues in the past after giving out my address to people I didn't know... the whole thing ended up involving the police, and I really don't want a repeat of that. Thanks.

The person I sent my package to is complaining that everything arrived broken.😠
Is there any way I can file a claim with the USPS for some compensation?😢

Honestly, it depends on a ton of different factors, and you haven't mentioned a single one. Like, what kind of shipping service did you use? Was the value declared on the label? Did you mark it as "fragile"? How much time has passed between the delivery and this complaint? Also, did the customer notice something was wrong right when they picked it up—like, was the box crushed or torn up? There's just so much to consider.

Unless you paid extra for the PREMIUM version.

Nah, that’s just not how it works. You don't need to mark everything as "fragile" just to be eligible for a refund. Honestly, most stuff being shipped around isn't even breakable. The real secret is just packing your box like a pro and making sure you speak up the second it hits your doorstep. Also, if a package shows visible damage when it arrives, the delivery driver shouldn't even leave it there—they should tell the customer to head down to the local FedEx or UPS office to file a formal report right then and there.

If it’s shattered, I’m assuming we’re dealing with glass, which means the "fragile" label should have been applied.
