How do you people actually train in this heat? This summer is honestly draining the life out of me—feels like I’ve aged ten years since June. If I were a pro athlete, I’d just pack up and move to somewhere like Seattle or Denver permanently. At least then I wouldn't feel like I'm constantly melting through my shoes.

I actually find it easier to get a workout in during the summer. There's something about working up a heavy sweat that keeps me motivated—plus, my body stays warm and ready to go.😁

You guys are always complaining about being overheated 😵
Honestly, the heat doesn't bother me one bit. I just sweat more, which makes me tell myself it’s actually melting away my cellulite... 😁

Early morning or late at night works best. I don't really follow a strict training regimen, but I've been skating recreationally for about ten years now. Since I love it so much, I make it a point to get out there around 5:00 AM while these summer heatwaves are hitting us. That humidity makes the early wake-up call worth it.

Working out during the summer is honestly such a vibe—I mean, there’s nothing quite like hitting a run along the beach, where you feel like every single person passing by is turning their head to check you out.

The only ones turning my way are mosquitoes looking for a snack once I start sweating. 😁

I'm struggling with the exact same thing lately. Trying to squeeze in a run during the summer heat when you can barely catch your breath is just brutal... I've actually taken a little break for now, but as soon as those evenings get a bit cooler and easier to breathe, I'll be right back out there. Does anyone have any tips or advice to help me get through it?

Just working out at home, cranked up the AC 🤷

I usually just grind out my workouts at home with the AC cranked up. Honestly, there’s no way I’m doing it any other way.

I don't know about all that though, because I'm just not the type of person who can actually motivate myself to work out at home... during the winter, I'd much rather be out running or doing some kind of aerobics outside, I'll admit that much about myself🙈 If I'm sitting under an air conditioner, the only thing I'm planning on doing is lying down and staying cool...

The heat doesn't bother me personally. It just takes about 10 to 15 minutes to adjust before I feel comfortable. I usually keep a window wide open, keep some water handy, and have a towel ready to wipe off. If it gets truly unbearable, I just head into the living room and crank up the AC. 🙂

I guess I’m just a total masochist with my mid-range 3.7 miles evening strolls along the coast

You people have absolutely no idea what real satisfaction feels like. There’s nothing quite like the rush of crushing a marathon or some other brutal endurance race when the heat index hits ninety. 😍

Pain is gain. 😁

My real concern isn't actually the heat; it’s going to be the winter months. I plan on making the most of these next two months—finishing out August and hopefully enjoying a decent September—by sticking to a strict routine of morning runs followed by afternoon weight sessions. Once the temperature drops and we start dealing with the freezing rain and snow, my chances of getting any running in drop to zero. Between my recurring tonsillitis issues and the fact that I have absolutely no desire to go sprinting through a blizzard or a torrential downpour, outdoor training becomes a non-starter. I’m definitely going to have to scout out some indoor alternatives once the frost sets in.
Honestly, I’ve always preferred summer over winter, so the heat doesn't bother me one bit.

Maria Barrett81 said:winter is gonna be my real struggle—so I’m planning to stick to my morning runs and afternoon HIIT sessions through the rest of August and hopefully September while it's still decent. once the freezing cold, rain, and snow hit... there's just no way I'm running. my tonsils act up too much, and honestly, the thought of heading out into a massive Midwestern blizzard or some heavy downpour isn't even happening... so I'll have to find an alternative once winter rolls in...
besides, I actually prefer summer over winter, so the heat doesn't really bother me...

You can just do aerobics in the winter or work out at home; I've got this killer walking DVD for indoor use. Power walking, different distances... it wears me out more than running does.

I remember one afternoon during an outdoor fitness bootcamp where the heat was absolutely brutal—around 3 PM and hitting nearly 95 degrees. But honestly, with such great music playing and such a wonderful group of people around me, I didn't mind it one bit!😬

I’m usually the complete opposite, though. I’m always freezing, no matter what the weather is like.🤷

The heat doesn't really bother me that much... I just end up sweating more during my workouts... I usually train outdoors, but I wait until the evening so it's easier to handle since the temperatures have dropped by then... there's absolutely no way I'm hitting a workout when it's 95 degrees or higher outside....
