From what I gather, the promoter cleared a permit with the city for the show to run until midnight, but then they spent the whole night ignoring that and insisting things end by 10:00 PM. I actually stepped in and told them 10:30 PM was the limit, maybe pushing it to 11:45 PM at most.
I don't know exactly when the organizer found out they were supposed to cut it at 10:00. She’s the one who can give you a straight answer on that. 🤷
If she knew earlier, then yeah, damn. They should have started sooner. 🤷

You guys are a great band, but you lacked that punk rock solidarity there. 😢
I'm sorry it went down that way. I mentioned this to the folks from Kyle too... I'm not making excuses, but I heard you guys actually said it was 10:05 at that moment. Besides, when you're on stage, you aren't exactly thinking about the clock, believe me. The organizer should have stepped in and shut it down, or the Kyle crew could have handled it—we wouldn't have had any issue with that and would have packed up in a second.
That's how we handled things when we played Z. Buki and Hebiga; we just told them to cut it because time was up.
And okay, let's say we finished at 10:28 PM... by then, Kyle was still spending 15 minutes setting up, checking the sound, and so on. There was only time for one song. If they had jumped in five minutes earlier, they would have had those same 15 minutes just like we did. We squeezed in seven songs, which takes less than 15 minutes. But they didn't want to deal with the soundboard, and nobody from their side checked the amps or anything while we were still getting our gear ready.
One of their guys came up to us at the end and lost his cool with us. Look, I get it... what am I supposed to say? 🤷
Honestly, the biggest mess here is that most of the crowd showed up specifically for Kyle, and they probably left feeling disappointed. 😢
The party was great later on, though... not many people stayed, but people were dancing and having a good time.
