I managed to hit 4.4 miles in 38 minutes today—that’s about it for me. Not asking for much more out of life, I guess. 😁

Just take it easy and keep those pedals turning... my wife's VA - Old Town ride took her 1 hour and 20 minutes, maybe around 18-12 miles, but I'm happy just being in a good mood...😁

... everyone's got their own pace, I suppose...👋

I hope her rim didn't get smashed like mine did Downtown 😁
My leg still hurts. 😁

My leg still hurts, honestly. 😁

Man, a light derailleur tweak is one thing... but since we're talking about total wrecks—last year, during my first trip out to the city—my cassette chainring somehow jammed right into the spokes (don't even ask how)... snapped the rim, broke my arm for six months... just nothing left, front wheel spinning in the air and I'm stuck hauling my Ford all the way back to my parents' place in New York City...🙂

Is it just me, or is nobody actually biking to work?
:=)

I’m currently finishing up my 1865 miles at the end of February.
I’m really hoping things pick up soon, you know? Like, I'm aiming to be out on my bike commuting to the office every single day.

Oh, I definitely do, every single day 16 miles! Now that the weather has finally settled down a bit, I’m really hoping I won't have to rely on my car at least until September.
It honestly feels like the number of commuters on our roads has shot up lately, and—just like I mentioned in another thread—I'm seeing way more helmets out there than I used to. 👍

I mean, I go, but there’s not much to say—it’s just routine. If the weather's decent, I ride; if not, I just drive. Only thing is, I have to leave way earlier now, and honestly, the heat gets me so worked up I basically have to carry a change of clothes. Though, even in the car, it isn't any better, even with the AC blasting.
My old bike finally finished its tune-up, so I'm rolling on that. It’s got thinner tires meant for the pavement, since riding my MTB on the road is such a massive struggle. This one's definitely faster. 🙂

I can’t go again after that trip to Miami. My knees and back are absolutely trashed—taking a break now to play it safe. I just hope everything feels normal when I get back from the coast in August, because if I’ve actually done permanent damage to my body, I’m going to be pretty devastated. :-(((((

Hopefully things pick up soon, and I can start commuting by bike every single day.

I ride a few times a week, and I hope to increase that frequency now.
6.2 milesI take the direct route so I don't arrive sweaty, but when I head home, I take the long way. For instance, riding past Lake Michigan—no need for any sights of people in skimpy workout gear to boost my mood after a shift. 😁

But that smoothie stand closed down. 😢

I'm heading out, but honestly, checking in every single day feels a bit silly. 🙂

The only things that stop me are heavy rain or when I have too much gear to carry and need to take the car instead.

I won't be around starting Thursday. I'm heading out tomorrow, and I suppose I’m feeling a bit like a kid on Christmas eve 😬
Otherwise, it's the same routine 👍

Same deal over here. If I don't have other stuff piling up on my plate or if the clock isn't working against me, I’m out on my bike.

So, I’m officially joining the ranks. My office relocated, which means my commute is now just under 1.9 miles one way. It’s mostly through the local parks and some wooded trails.
Took my bike out for the first ride today, and honestly? I’m pretty stoked about it.
The only catch is my damn back is killing me, so we’ll have to see if these shorter bursts are manageable. I already know from experience that the long hauls absolutely wreck me. 😢

Every single day that it isn't pouring rain, I head out on this little stretch—it’s maybe 15 or so miles long, roughly
just a really lovely little loop🙂

Riding an e-scooter shouldn't be an issue, really. -))
Maybe they'll beef up the regulations eventually.

So, there I am—commuting by bike from this Wednesday onward, barring any torrential rain or an absolute emergency requiring the car.
11 miles That’s roughly one way daily, plus a few extra miles of walking around my job site.

The mornings feel great... though things get a bit more grueling later in the day, but hey, that's just part of the grind.

🙂🙂

I might miss a day here and there, but I’m trying to hit it every single day... Some 5.6 miles one way.

Obviously, I had to skip those weeks when we were getting hammered by rain in the city, and now I'm worried next week might be a wash too with those heatwaves they're calling. Even today, the sun absolutely cooked me—showed up home soaked to the bone. 😉

But honestly, riding to work in that perfect morning chill? Priceless. No traffic, no stress, just cruising with a smile. Not to mention how much more productive I feel—my energy levels are way up. Honestly, employers should really be incentivizing their staff to bike in; you know, all that healthy living and eco-friendly stuff. 🙂

I was wondering—does your office provide any kind of dedicated bike parking? Like, is it actually secure and monitored, or are we just leaving our rides out there totally exposed to whoever wants to grab them?

Right outside my office building, there are these bike racks, and I see about twenty bikes parked there every single day. It’s right by the main entrance, so there’s probably some security camera footage covering the whole area.
I spent part of today just watching them from my window 😁

I've checked on mine from my window a few times today. 😁

What kind of lock are you using? 🍿

And another thing... just a classic key-lock cable for about ten bucks. Don't come at me with that paranoia nonsense now. 😬
