Sadly, this divine singer’s popularity here in the States has tanked—I don't know anyone left who still stans her. That's exactly why I'm starting this thread: to bring together the people who are still listening and still keep her at number one. I really miss having American-language discussions about my favorite artist. So, if there are any of you out there, speak up. Let's get together and talk about what we love.

She’s got a few bangers from the 80s (like Heaven is a Place on Earth, I Get Weak, etc.), but I had no clue she was still putting out music?

I honestly just can't get enough of those eyes of hers—they're easily the most beautiful in the world... and then there's the music, too, which I love quite a bit...

besides, she's still out there performing. if you check YouTube, she was even playing in Moscow a few years back. she shows up, she just isn't making massive waves anymore. sad...

Look, there are plenty of 80s artists who haven't put out anything new in forever but they still tour (think The Pretenders). What else are they gonna do? It's their livelihood. As for Madonna, Summer Rain, Runaway horses, I Get Weak, Heaven is..., lights on—those are my jams. Honestly, if I hadn't heard Heaven is... playing at an open mic earlier, I wouldn't even be making this post.

Heaven is a Place on Earth is her biggest hit, hands down.

I noticed everyone keeps bringing up tracks from the Heaven on Earth and Runaway Horses albums. I’m on the same page—those two are definitely her peak. Personally, Summer Rain hits me hard; that song has made me cry more than anything else, before or since. That said, my absolute favorite has to be la Luna. It was the first track of hers I ever heard, and it hooked me instantly. Probably because of that Latin rhythm and the Spanish title—back before I even knew who this wizard was, I was a huge Latin music fanatic.

Madonna had a massive comeback in 2007 when she dropped Voil, which is basically a collection of covers of her favorite French chansons. Apparently, after she headed over to Europe following the Northridge Earthquake in California, she fell in love with French music, leading to that 2007 release. Word is there might be a new English album slated for 2009. 🙂

It’s good to see someone else who feels the same way about her. I hope you really do love her... if you want to know anything about her stuff or need help finding a specific song, just ask. 🙂

I recently realized I’ve been obsessed with her song la Luna. I've had it on repeat for the last couple weeks, probably at least 5 or 6 times a day 😁 and that music video is just stunning

I can still vividly remember watching the music video on loop back when I was just a kid, spinning those old cassette tapes that featured all her greatest hits. 😳I used to be so obsessed with having that specific look—that bright red hair and those striking green eyes.

My favorite has to be from The Go-Go's. Like Vacation.

The Go-Go's are fine, but I’m more into her solo stuff. Her solo music hits different for me—it’s softer, more emotional, and just fits my taste better. Plus, when she’s on her own, she actually gets the spotlight she deserves instead of getting lost in the group dynamic. That said, I still dig some Go-Go's tracks: Our lips are sealed, We got the beat, LUST TO LOVE😍, Vacation, Get up and go, Head over heels, Mercenary😳...

Exactly. She did that Playboy shoot specifically to prove that you don't need to be 20 years old with a 32-34 inch bust to be considered sexually attractive or a woman. Some uneducated hillbillies call her a slut because of it, but honestly, that was one of those moves of hers I really respected—not because of any male perversion, but because of the actual point she was making.

So, you’d heard la Luna before and didn't even realize she was the one singing it? Glad you like that track, though; we definitely see eye to eye👍 on it. And don't even get me started on the video. That was the first thing I ever actually saw (not just heard, but SAW) of hers, and I was floored... there's something about her gaze in that video that just pulls at your soul...😳 that video totally won me over😍

The song leave a light on is also stunning. It probably makes sense why it's the opening track on the Runaway horses album, which is easily my favorite Belindin record. Madonna is packed with hits, but if I had to pick the absolute best:
la Luna, Heaven is a Place on Earth, Runaway horses, Vision of you , Summer Rain, World without you , Love never dies , Mad about you , i get weak , Circle in The Sand , do you Feel like i Feel , Emotional highway, Half The World... too many to list.😁

I mean, isn't she still recording? Didn't she just drop an album in French not too long ago? Plus, if you look back at her stuff from the eighties, there are some seriously beautiful tracks in there. My take is that almost everyone recognizes most of her hits, yet they don't actually have a clue who's singing them. When it comes to staying relevant, her popularity has dipped along with pretty much every other female singer from the eighties, with the exception of Madonna 😉
