Been there, done that. It’s a nightmare, especially since I basically live at my office desk...🤣
I always needed everything to be spotless...

Just throw some toilet paper in the bowl before you go, and the mess hits the paper first instead of the porcelain...👍

Yeah, right... then you flush, the whole thing overflows, and suddenly you've got a flood drifting straight toward your cubicle... 👍

Kenneth Jackson30 said:When you sit down, lean back a bit so the "ball" hits the ceramic part of the bowl first. That way, you don't have to worry about hitting the rim or any bone issues, and you won't end up with a mess everywhere.

👍 😁

They say the toilet seat actually cleans way better than the kitchen sink. That thing looks like it’s crawling with every nasty bacteria under the sun. 😲

It hasn't happened yet...😁

Man, I’ve been reading this thread from the jump and I can’t stop laughing.
Though, honestly, it isn't even funny at its core.
Schlitz is right—that is just unhygienic.
But it really comes down to the toilet itself.
Everyone here has shared practical ways to prevent it. Using toilet paper is probably the best move since it's the simplest fix.
Now I finally get why my brother-in-law was sitting on every single toilet at Home Depot, unable to make a decision.
My sister and I were dying of embarrassment, but now I see his logic.
If you're buying a new toilet, do yourself a favor: test it out. Make sure you know exactly where you land when you sit down.

Look, if you eat a ton and then go heavy on the bathroom breaks, obviously when a massive dump hits the water, you're gonna get a huge splash that drenches everything nearby. So, honestly, it wouldn't be a bad idea to just eat less. There’s also the whole technique of learning how to release things more slowly; if you master that, you won't have those waves and splashes caused by just dropping everything at once.

Maybe the trick is just grabbing some fruit—plums, for instance—and then following it up immediately with a big glass of water. If you hit the coffee right after that, it might just loosen things up enough to avoid any... messy splashing incidents.🤷

Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!:🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 🤣😂Watch yourselves, everyone—there's a massive wave coming, and it’s lurking right in your own bathrooms. Save yourselves if you can.🙂

Look, my point stands—we really need to start organizing proper classes to teach people the right technique...😂>

I think it’s largely down to the toilet itself. Some people splash, some don't, and we aren't all dealing with the same size or firmness of stool. It all depends on what you eat.
The best trick is using toilet paper. Drop some in the bowl beforehand and you won't have any issues.
Personally, I hate it when someone is near the bathroom while I'm going and you hear that "splat" sound when it hits the water.
In those situations, toilet paper helps too.

Girl, be serious when things get real. And you better watch out so that wave doesn't sweep you away—best bet is to grab onto a surfboard.

Since we’re already diving into these totally bizarre topics, I have to admit I have this massive phobia where I’m terrified some kind of creepy little creature is just gonna fly right out of my shellfish
like a random rodent or even a lizard 😲

I mean, is that even a real thing that could happen? 😲

A friend of mine used to struggle with bulimia. She was constantly throwing up in the toilet, and apparently, it started attracting rats that would crawl right up through the sewer pipes into her bathroom. But once she stopped, the rats stopped coming because there wasn't that scent drawing them in anymore.

Is it some kind of rat or just a lizard? 😲

Is that even possible? 😲

If you happen to be living in New York, you might just find an alligator popping out of a seashell...😲

oh my god, I seriously did not need to hear that today, I am officially done talking, I'm shutting my mouth right now😲

thank goodness I don't deal with bulimia, though I definitely know better than to dump leftover food scraps down the sink

Ugh, I really shouldn't have listened to that. That's it. I'm shutting my mouth for good. 😲

Luckily I don't have an eating disorder or anything, but I definitely know better than to flush leftover food down the toilet.

Look, normal people aren't out here doing crazy stuff, so you don't need to panic. But seriously, don't flush those scraps down the drain. It's just not smart. That smell will bring pests straight to your pipes.

stormyheron4 said:Look, raccoon-style pests aren't going to eat garbage, so you don't need to freak out about that, but I really wouldn't recommend flushing food scraps down the toilet because that's exactly how you attract those little critters—the smell just draws them right to you!

Ugh, thanks for the heads up, stormyheron4!😢

So, how's life treating Americans? 🤷

They've got those shellfish that are basically filled to the brim with water ☕
I mean, they probably need a towel just to dry off, I guess 🤣

A tsunami from the toilet bowl...😂 🤣

And that stuff about rats? My dad used to tell me those stories all the time...😲
I honestly don't know how I managed to get through life without being terrified of being trapped...😉
