Look at how this thread has exploded... It's a shame the OP stopped posting; I wanted to see if those tips actually worked for anyone. Maybe they got spooked because we all started laughing, though honestly, there’s nothing funny about it. Dealing with bowel movements is a vital part of daily life, yet everyone acts like it's a taboo subject.
I suggest the moderators rename this thread to The Big Relief - tips, tricks and support

I reckon the mods should just rename this whole thing to The Big Need - tips, tricks and support...

🤣🙏

I'm thinking the mods should just rename the thread to The Great Relief - tips, tricks and support...

The guy's probably busy testing out all these life hacks on his own toilet right now, so he clearly doesn't have time to hang out on the forum.😍

Maybe this guy is actually working on a PhD about this stuff. He might just be using us to crowdsource his research, basically getting us to solve all his problems for him while he takes the credit.

I seriously suggest the mods just rename this whole thing to The Big Poop - tips, tricks and support...

I am totally with you on this! 🙂
If gourmet cooking counts as the input, then why shouldn't our business be considered a top-tier topic?
😁

Besides, I was watching this documentary the other day about that wild lady traveling through Eastern Europe, and they were talking about these special toilet seats—the flat ones that German companies manufacture
Apparently, those flat seats are designed specifically for stool inspection, so you can get a crystal clear view of exactly how your digestion is doing🙂

You can always just stick to the basics—that way there’s no standing ovation, and you actually have the chance to study what came out.

like a rat or a lizard 😲

Is that even a thing? 😲

Actually, yeah, it’s totally possible. I remember reading about it in the news a few years back.

There was this old guy who couldn't move much, just sitting on the toilet in his apartment on Filipović Street in New York, when a rat bit him right on the tip of his penis 😲 and he ended up in the hospital. The building was hooked up to the city sewer system, obviously.
That’s exactly how the story went down.

Another case I recall happened at a vacation home. The owners came back after being away for a couple of months and found... well, a mess. They had left the toilet lid up and the bathroom door wide open. Rats were basically using it as a highway. Since the house was connected to the septic system, it was an open invitation.

The rats wandered into the house and set up camp right in the bedroom.

Sure, it’s possible, but it’s incredibly rare. A rat isn't exactly going to pull off a feat of strength by navigating all those pipes just to reach a toilet in a busy house or apartment where people are constantly flushing.
Plus, most moms are dumping all sorts of cleaners into the bowl—everything from Lysol to heavy-duty acid. Those harsh chemical cocktails hit the pipes and sewers daily, so I highly doubt any rat could survive in that kind of environment. If you live in an apartment on the 3rd or 4th floor, you really don't need to worry about rats coming up through the toilet.

Lisa Martin50, hopefully that gives you some peace of mind.

Not at all. We just act like we're involved whenever people start arguing about garbage.

Those flat shellfish are basically used for stool inspections, just so a guy can get a clear look at his digestion. 🙂

That’s what you call a shallow toilet bowl, and companies like Kohler have been churning them out forever. When I was a kid, those exact models were standard in every apartment—for the very reasons you mentioned. Nowadays, those deeper ones are mostly reserved for public restrooms or hotels.

Carol Brooks41 said:Of course it’s physically possible, but honestly, it almost never happens! It’s not like a rat can just casually stroll through all those pipes and plumbing right up to the toilet bowl, especially since in a busy house or an apartment building where people are constantly flushing, they’re never going to make it to the bowl itself.
Plus, let's be real, every mom out there is constantly dumping different scents, Lysol, or even heavy-duty cleaners down the drain, so those intense chemical cocktails are hitting the pipes and the sewer system every single day, so I really don't think rats could survive in that kind of environment. And if you live on the third or fourth floor of an apartment complex, you seriously don't need to worry about a rat coming out of your toilet.

Lisa Martin50, I hope that at least helps you feel a little better!

Well, now I’m gonna be cleaning my toilet every single day😁
just so it stays shiny and becomes the cleanest damn toilet in the whole building🤣

I don't usually use the heavy stuff, but I bet Clorox is more than enough to take out any nasty rats😠

Yeah, I’ve actually heard about a case where a rat climbed right out of the toilet.
Ever since then, I make it a point to always shut the lid and make sure the bathroom door is tightly closed.
Honestly, I have this irrational fear that while I'm asleep, one might crawl from the toilet straight onto my bed and bite me.
I even know a guy who was sleeping when a rat started crawling up his leg. Apparently, he lives right near a local landfill and always leaves his front door wide open.😱

Haha, you think it’s clean? You aren't exactly cleaning up after yourself... and you're leaving the lid up too...

P.S. You can actually solve this—before you go, just drop one square of TP horizontally in the water (like, just two squares). That gives you a five-minute window before it sinks.

Man, you must be traveling a lot... considering how much trouble you have with your digestion lately... haha

Anyway, just my two cents.
