I was actually telling Morgan Murphy7 the other day that you’ve totally got a preconceived notion about me, man 🤷

But hey, whatever, we all go through phases. I was just reading back through some stuff I posted three years ago when I first joined this place, and honestly? Man, what an absolute moron I was. 🤣

But I guess it doesn't matter. Back then, this forum felt like a whole new world to me, like this big fresh start. I still remember thinking that Foyer was some kind of genius expert or something. 🤣

I just wanted to throw my two cents in—this whole F1 circus we’re watching right now? Honestly, all it’s missing is a perpetual whiner and an absolute underdog like Montoya. I mean, look at the lineup! We’ve got a two-time champ and professional grumbler in Alonso, we’ve got a champion and a total wild card in Kimi, and then there's Massu—you know, the guy you call when you just want a weekend of zero meaningful action. We've got the young phenom Lewis Hamilton, the veteran Barrichello, the absolute madman Sat, the always-promising Vettel, and even Kubica. Seriously, the only thing missing from this whole chaotic show is a cocky South American—come back, Montoya!

You and that buddy of yours, Jason Campbell70, act like you two are joined at the hip. Honestly, there might be more to it than just sharing an opinion. 🙂
Classic nostalgia trips... I’ve got a few buddies who are exactly like this. Seriously, you could show them video proof that MS didn't drive a single perfect race in his entire career and they still wouldn't budge. Look, I'm not saying the guy wasn't talented. He was good. He was easily top 5 over the last two decades, which isn't nothing. But the way you guys defend him? It's wild. You'd think he personally went back in time and helped your mothers conceive you just so you could be here today. 🙂

Just a bunch of old-school nostalgics. I know a few people like that—totally unreachable. You could show them proof that Michael Schumacher never actually won a single race properly in his life, and they wouldn't budge. Look, I'm not saying he wasn't a great driver. He was solid, easily top five over the last two decades. That’s nothing. But the way you guys defend him? It's like he's responsible for your very existence. 🙂

Nicole Reyes97 said:Nobody ever said it was a chore... we are simply discussing the circumstances of waking up so early in the morning. If I have been waking up at this hour for four years straight, I believe I have proven my dedication to Formula 1.🙄🙄 🙄

I am genuinely curious, rain, have you ever actually fallen asleep during a race? That is how you can tell who a true Formula 1 enthusiast is and who isn't.🙄😳

During the war, I wouldn't make it home for months at a time, but if a race was on, even a full-scale offensive couldn't keep me away. My wife once asked me what on earth was so captivating about Formula 1, considering I hadn't even come home for Christmas or New Year's Day. I simply sat her down and said, "Watch and enjoy, and I will provide the commentary." Unfortunately, that happened on May 1st, 1994—the day the legendary Ayrton Senna passed away. Regardless, she became a fan of Formula 1 herself, along with all her friends. Then, in 2002, I considered gifting myself a trip to Hockenheim because the race fell right on my birthday. Since my brother lives in Germany, I thought it would be a perfect way to combine pleasure with visiting family. However, for various reasons, I stayed home, and the whole crew gathered at my place instead. It was that famous race where Michael Schumacher retired at the very start, and Rubens Barrichello started 18th due to an error. To cut a long story short, he took first place. Can you imagine what a birthday celebration that was for a group of Formula 1 and Ferrari fans? There were about 15 of us there—men and women alike—all of whom have followed Formula 1 ever since. What else is there to say? I truly love seeing women enjoy this sport. But nothing compares to the atmosphere of a live race. Nothing. The rush of adrenaline, the crowd around you cheering as one (usually with a beer in hand), and that moment when a car screams past you... you don't know whether to feel fear or pure bliss. There simply aren't words to describe that feeling.
To wrap this up, a veeeeeelikii greeting to all Formula 1 fans from a mačak from San Diego.

goldenviper21 said:Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who felt the sting, even if it wasn't directly in my own pocket. A good friend of mine wanted to set up HomeBox, so I offered to help. After struggling just to get it installed—we actually had to return three different devices because they were defective—it stalled out again after just a couple of days. That was the last straw. We packed up the device and headed straight to T-Mobile to cancel the contract. Once we got there, they explained that T-Mobile can cut off a user if they notice a massive spike in traffic over a short period. Basically, she downloaded a few songs and one game, and then, just days later, the bill shot up to an astronomical $233. I couldn't believe it. The representative saw our genuine shock, surprise, and anger, and explained that instead of charging per GB like every other provider, T-Mobile charges for anything over the 1 GB limit based on MB, at a rate of $0.07 per MB. That’s about 20 cents. Now, multiply that by 1024 to get the amount in a GB, and you end up with $68 per GB. You can't call that anything other than robbery. Everyone else charges for extra data by the GB $6.75, but T-Mobile users decided to charge by the MB because no sane person would pay $67 for a single GB. Their mobile services are equally outrageous. Ever since I switched to T-Mobile, things have been much better. Our household budget has improved significantly because my wife and kids switched over too. There's simply no comparison. When I add a $33 top-up, they add extra value on top. And I don't even spend $17. Calls to all networks are incredibly cheap. It's UNMATCHED. So, here is my final piece of advice. People, stay away from T-Mobile; they are nothing more than highway robbers. It surprises me that in this country, where I have literally shed blood, there isn't some kind of market oversight. Or maybe some McMudan in the US Congress has a stake in T-Mobile. I suspect the latter. I'll say it again: RUN from T-Mobile as fast as you can. It will definitely be worth it.

But why did you decide to leave this post right here? 😕

But hey, regardless of that tragedy, she ended up becoming a huge Formula 1 fan herself, and her friends followed suit too. Fast forward to 2002, I was thinking about getting myself a trip to Hockinheim for my birthday since it lined up perfectly with the date. Unhappy

That was so beautifully written😁 👍
Yeah, same here... the only thing is everyone around me loses their minds when I start geeking out about it, but in the end, I managed to convince at least half my friends to start watching Formula 1.👍 👍

No matter how long I've been following racing, I've never fallen asleep during a race, and I've never found one boring. Now I'm seriously bummed because I won't be able to catch the Saturday qualifying sessions due to some obligations...😢 😢
A race is something I just can't miss, even if it's at 3 AM every single day... obviously, I'd much prefer them all to be on Sundays at 2 PM, but if they aren't, I guess I just have to adapt to the schedule...👍

Man, he just went a little off-topic, but honestly, it’s still not cool that his post got nuked. If someone was bothered by it, they could've just scrolled past. The guy pours his heart out into a massive post, and then—boom—it's gone in a split second... 👎

Totally agree here.👍

It’s kind of wild seeing all this random nonsense being posted that has zero to do with Formula 1, and then having it deleted just because someone’s a newbie. It feels a bit much, you know? 🤷

Plus, I really don't see who that post was actually hurting. 🤷
