Are you looking to buy or sell? Well, I have to say, this machine is incredibly old, though I’m merely stating a fact rather than offering a personal opinion here.🙂

For somewhere around $300-$133, it should handle basic daily tasks just fine.

Maybe for $300-$133 if you just need the basics.

I'm looking to buy. It would only be for basic stuff, like browsing the web and things... couldn't find much info on it online, so I thought I'd ask. thanks.🙂

A salesperson might try to push an AGP graphics card and 2GB of RAM on you, perhaps even asking for more, but let's be honest—that technology is ancient, and there is absolutely no way I'd pay over $400 for it. Personally, if I were looking at those specs, my absolute limit would be $350.

If you head down to a local Best Buy or check out some deals on Craigslist, you should be able to find basic Core 2 Duo configurations featuring an E6300 CPU and 2GB of RAM for around $110, which really constitutes a decent little PC for the price.

For $100, you should be able to find some basic Core 2 Duo builds on Craigslist with an E6300 CPU and 2GB of RAM. That's a decent enough PC.

Thanks 🙂

I checked Craigslist, but there hasn't been much lately. I'll keep looking at what's out there.

It's not bad, but it's way too far from me. That's a long drive.

So, which state are you actually looking at? And give me a ballpark figure—what kind of budget are we even talking about here?

What's the going rate for
?
Motherboard - ASUS Motherboard
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo
Graphics - Intel G33
RAM - 2GB RAM
Hard drive - WDC WD5000AAKS-60YGA1 350GB
DVD-ROM - HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H60L
HP Compaq dx2400
Windows XP

btw, is it actually worth pulling the DVD-ROM out to toss into a future build, or should I just sell the whole unit as one piece?
I can't even remember the last time I used it—pretty sure it hasn't seen any action in at least two years.
The only reason to keep it would be for OS installations, but let's be real—you just use a USB stick nowadays.

Oof, maybe $600-$233, provided you can actually track down someone willing to take it off your hands. Just leave the DVD drive inside since you're selling the whole rig anyway.

Hey,
I need an estimate on what these three parts are worth (motherboard + CPU + GPU).

I haven't been using my PC much lately—basically nothing—so I'm looking to offload these three items mentioned in the thread if they're actually worth any cash. 😁
I'll save whatever I get for a potential upgrade down the road.
The rig is about 4 years old, though it's seen very little actual use since then (maybe not the most important detail, but whatever, just thought I'd mention it)—nothing has been overclocked.
So, here’s the lineup. I won't even bother mentioning the 4 GB of DDR2 because I doubt I'd get enough for a pack of gum. 🤣

- motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD3P, AM2+ socket (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=3107#ov)
- processor: AMD Phenom II X4, AM2+, 3.0GHz (http://products.amd.com/pages/Deskto...il.aspx?id=509)
- graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275, 896 MB GDDR3, 2400 MHz (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=3130#sp)

Thanks!

crimsonstag84, aren't you going to reply to the post above? 😁

Anyway, here is my estimate for:
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD3P, AM2+ socket
$67
AMD Phenom II X4, AM2+, 3.0GHz
$150
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275, 896 MB GDDR3, 2400 MHz
$117

Yep.

Maybe I $17 went a bit overboard with the GPU and motherboard specs, but hey, that's just marketing 😛

That board is definitely high-end, even if it's an AM2+ platform. I think it cost about $267 back when you could still buy it new.

And the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 is actually more powerful than an AMD Radeon HD 7750, for example, even if it is old and pulls 4 or 5 times more power.😬

For $167, I'd suggest the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285, though personally, I wouldn't grab it—I'd hunt for an AMD Radeon HD 7770 instead. Or maybe an AMD Radeon HD 5850 or a GTX 460Ti. Honestly, even a 560Ti is close to your budget, and man, it is significantly more powerful.
As for the motherboard, this one doesn't support AM3+ or DDR3 (it’s just AM2+), it lacks SATA 3 and USB 3, and there isn't even an integrated GPU 😬 Maybe $83 at most, but definitely nothing higher than that.

I didn't see any mention of DDR2 RAM in the post, but look, if it's standard stuff, you're looking at $17/GB, whereas if it's some high-end 1066 MHz kit, you can expect a bit more 🙂

The motherboard might be a bit outdated since it lacks those newer connectors, but being on the AM2+ platform makes it comparable to something like an X38 or X48 board you'd find in a standard LGA 775 build.

GTS 250 ~ $83
HD 5750 ~ $117
GTX 260/HD 5770 ~ $133
GTX 275 ~ $167
GTX 285 ~ $200

Pricing is also somewhat influenced by what these parts actually cost when they were brand new. I guess if you just check local listings for an Intel Core 2 Quad, you'll see the trend. 🤣

Btw, 2GB of DDR2 800MHz is roughly ~$77 at most retail stores.

crimsonstag84 replied 😬 I think the machine is alright, but he can keep looking if he wants. Honestly, who’s going to buy this when you realize that for roughly the same amount of money, you could pick up a modern CPU like an AMD Athlon 740?

As for the case, I agree—around $200$83 is a solid price if you want to move it quickly.

I think 😬

Look, I’d say it's better to list at least $17 more than what you're actually hoping to get. I already moved my Athlon on eBay for $133 (took about a day and a half), and the motherboard went for $50 (about three days). The thing is, AM2+ processors are pretty hard to find these days, so you can probably ask for a decent amount—as long as the price stays low enough that a buyer doesn't just decide to buy a whole new CPU, motherboard, and RAM combo instead. The only real downside is that you won't have a warranty in most cases. 🙂

Honestly, I’d be down to sell all of this for $67. I just want to get it off my hands as soon as possible 😍

Anyway, an estimate for:
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD3P, socket AM2+
$67
AMD Phenom II x4 940 Black Edition, AM2+, 3.0GHz
$150
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 275, 896 MB GDDR3, 2400 MHz
$117

crimsonstag84 is at 1450-1650, while Joseph Barrett is sitting at 1200. 😁
So what should I actually ask for in the end?

So, what should my final asking price be?

Try looking up Smarticov's prices first; if that doesn't work, just use mine.
By the way, if you have the energy and time, try selling the components individually. They're still pretty desirable, and you'll likely walk away with more cash that way. 🙂
