Alexander Moore67 said:It depends on your specific needs, but for a gaming rig, it's ten times more powerful and worth the price of both laptops combined.

That was my suspicion. Thanks for the input. And yes, strictly for gaming.

You’ve essentially described the exact same PC setup several times now—which means its market value sits right around $1000 (+/- 100-$67, depending on who you're negotiating with). You don't need to list it every single time; just offer to cover the price difference if you're looking at a trade.

I find laptops a bit harder to pin down since their value depends so much on physical condition and remaining warranty, but if we're talking about gaming performance, they simply can't compete with that desktop build.

Hey guys and gals,

What would be a fair used price for this setup:

Motherboard: ASUS GA-78LMT-S2P
CPU: Ryzen 3 1200 quad, 3.8Ghz, black edition
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 660TI 2GB DDR5 192-bit
HDD: 1TB Toshiba DT01ACA100 SATA3
PSU: 450W, Spire

Thanks 🙂

I'm guessing there's no warranty on this?

Motherboard: $67
Processor: 250-$100
RAM: $117
Graphics Card: 600-$217
Drive: 200-$83
Power Supply: $40

The HDD and CPU are fine, but everything else is a zero.
That's where I thought I'd land, honestly. Thanks.

i3s are going for 200-$83. You really think anyone's dropping 250-300 on a quad FXa?

Maybe, maybe not. They could always drop the price.

On eBay, you can find the cheapest $110 😬

Ryzen 3 1200
Crucial CT102464BA160 1x8GB
ASUS GA-970A-DS3P
+aftermarket cooler

$333 What do you think about this price, or should I be asking for more?

The price looks solid, especially considering you're including an aftermarket cooler. You might want to try listing it at 1100-$400 first, then you can always scale back if you don't see any bites.

That Cooler Master LC-CC-95 cooler. If my memory serves me right, it was only about like $15 back then.

Someone in this group recommended a specific build to me about four years ago, so I guess it’s finally time for an upgrade.

Realistically, how much would a used HDD like this actually go for? Or am I just wasting my breath trying to sell it when I could just toss it into my desktop to store old phone photos, dusty past projects, and whatever else takes up space?

https://www.cnet.com/products/seagat...6-500gb/specs/

I honestly have no clue what the market looks like for this stuff. All I've got is the drive itself in a bag, no SATA cables or anything included.

From the MacBook. And $33 you can likely grab it without any issues, or just keep it for extra storage space

CPU might run around $1,000-$400
Motherboard - roughly $167
RAM - $117
GPU - $1,300-$500
SSD - $300-$133
Hard drives - maybe $150 for a 1TB $67, or about $100 for a 500GB $50

You mean RAM $283 😁

It’s probably 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance (CL14 2133MHz), I guess.

Dell HP ProLiant Server
i3 3220
2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz
ATI FirePro V4800 1GB GDDR5
500GB HDD
CD/DVD drive
LTO Tape drive 😛

As a standard PC? Not worth it. The specs just don't justify the price.

It’s likely a 2x8GB HyperX Fury kit (CL14 2133MHz)...

That seemed a bit odd to me too...
Actually, I bought it with 8GB (two 4GB sticks) and just added an 8GB one later...

My bad, I completely blanked on you having 8GB. In my opinion, you're looking at roughly 700-$267

@wiredotter14/">@@wiredotter14

Selling an older PC can be a real grind—it took me about 2 to 3 months just to move my setup, and that was a pretty easy sale. Yours might fetch somewhere around 1,000 and change, maybe $400, and you could definitely probably get $133 for the GPU, or even try for 500 if you're feeling lucky.

Selling an older PC is a grind. It took me about 2-3 months just to move mine, and honestly, it was easy. Yours might go for somewhere north of 1000, maybe $400, and you could probably snag $133 for the GPU—maybe even push for 500 if you try.

Tenks, I'm selling the GPU immediately back home in the States; I'll list it here on the marketplace too and see if anyone bites.

I'm not in a huge rush to sell the PC; it's sitting here with me in Germany. That's what I was thinking anyway—hopefully someone needs a rig with a pro GPU, since that card should fetch about $30-50.
