Believe me, there is plenty more where that came from. It’s all quite simple if one actually bothers to understand how things work. Then again, you always have those groups out there trying to offload significantly inferior rigs for absolutely ridiculous prices.

mellowtiger83 said:You should probably squeeze about $1500$667 out of it🙂. Honestly, trying to pin down a price is a total headache because prices on eBay fluctuate like crazy! People overprice their junk and then slash them just to move it, so good luck dealing with the idiots who are going to try and lowball you.

Hey, thanks!
I wanted to see what would happen. I’d never part with it for peanuts since it runs flawlessly, but I just picked up a new laptop, so it's time to finally get rid of this old tank.

Perhaps you might find something useful below $667 for everyone

Hmm, I see three similar builds listed on Craigslist, roughly in this order: $333, $500, and $567.

I would estimate them at around $1,700 given the case🙂. First impressions are everything; it’s all just marketing, really.

I'd say maybe $1700 because of the case🙂. First impressions are everything—it's just pure marketing fluff.

Are all three of those setups coming with a full Peripheral set? I doubt it... an SSD alone could easily run up to 400-$150...

I didn't account for the Peripherals, my apologies. It slipped my mind.

Hey everyone... I'm looking for some honest feedback here. Did I actually get a good deal on this setup?

CPU: i7-6700K 4 GHz
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
SSD: WD 250 GB
RAM: Kingston DDR4 2132 MHz 1x16 GB
Motherboard: MSI Z170A
Monitor: LG 29UM57 Monitor
Mouse: Logitech G402
Headset: Logitech G930

I already owned everything else, so I'm not counting those parts... :P

Everything was picked up used on eBay for about $2333, give or take $17...

Man, listen, you'll have a blast gaming on this, but honestly, you're pretty much at a dead end when it comes to future upgrades. Your Peripheral setup is actually quite solid which bumps up the price, though I'd still say anything over $500 is a bit much... but hey, it's not a total rip-off.🙂

It's a solid purchase. It’s essentially a top-tier machine capable of running modern titles on high settings. You have an overclockable processor, 6GB of VRAM, and from what I can see, some excellent Peripherals. There is also a good chance the system still carries a warranty.

Regarding future upgrades, you could eventually drop in a next-gen graphics card. That processor will remain relevant for quite a while, especially since it's the K-series version.
You have plenty of memory for the future as well.

Good luck!

I have a Dell Inspiron 15—any idea what it might be worth these days? Also, does anyone know how to actually track down its age? I’ve been trying to Google "Dell Inspiron 15 release date" or find a manufacturing date, but I'm hitting a wall.

Thanks 🙂

Thanks 🙂

You'll need to give us more details, specifically the exact specs. There are several different versions of the Dell Inspiron 15 out there—some come with an i5, some have an i3, and others run on a Pentium. Depending on what's inside, the price could vary quite a bit.

My bad—managed to dig up some specs from Mycomputer:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz 2.40 GHz
8.00 GB RAM
64-bit OS
Windows 7 Professional

Regarding the hard drives, I see three options listed: C: is basically maxed out at 99/292GB, D: is completely full at 292/292 GB, and E: sits at 345/345GB.

Thanks, 🙂

Provided it's been well-maintained and the battery actually holds a decent charge!

Somewhere in the $1,500 to $2,000 range, likely somewhere in that ballpark.

Oh, right—forgot to mention—the battery is completely shot. The computer has to stay plugged into the wall, otherwise, it just dies instantly. Is it worth looking for a fixed $500? That would be enough for me

It’s fine. Based on my assessment, you should be able to get that easily enough.

By the way, list it for 1600 so you have some breathing room to drop the price $33
.
You didn't mention the make or model of the laptop, which is actually quite vital. It might belong to a high-end series that raises the value on its own.

Hey everyone, could someone give me a fair estimate on what this setup is worth:

EVGA Series CX430 V2, 430 W
Intel Core i5-2320
Corsair PC3-10667U CMX8GX3M2A1333C9, 1333 MHz, 2x4 Gb
Asus HD7750-1GD5
Corsair Force Series 3, 90 Gb
Seagate Barracud Green ST1000DL002, 1000 Gb
Fractal design Core 3000

I also have an Aoc 2216 monitor, though I suppose it might not even be worth mentioning since it’s pretty old, even if it still works perfectly fine without any issues.

Thanks 😁

Did you forget to list the motherboard? Honestly, I have no idea if you'd get anything for that monitor because it's seriously ancient—still just 1680x1050 resolution.$50
