I’m looking to start doing some Pilates at home (if anyone has a good DVD they can lend me 😁). I also need to pick up a high-quality mat. Any recommendations on which brand or type to get? Thanks for the help.

I know of one truly wonderful, high-quality pair of non-slip matsβ€”they have this amazing rubberized grip so they won't slide around on the floor, and more importantly, they won't slip under you when you're actually using them! I believe I heard they carry them over at Dick's Sporting Goods... though I haven't checked on the exact price quite yet.

Checked Dick's Sporting Goodsβ€”they only carry camping pads. I hit up TurboSport and every other sports shop around the mall, downtown, and the big shopping center. Nothing.

I actually took a look at Nike for you... they don't carry those thicker, padded ones anymore
but they do have the standard yoga mats

I seem to recall spotting some mats in a shop over in Middleton, right there between those high-rises near the Doherty brothers building. But honestly, that was at least a year ago. I knew they looked decent, and since I am absolutely obsessed with pilates, I really could have used them, but I was a little short on cash at the time. Now I’m kicking myself because I still don't own a proper mat. 😒 On another note, I do my workouts at Club Pilates, and I actually follow this whole video seriesβ€”well, I downloaded it online... if you know what I mean... πŸ™‚β€”and it truly works! I'm a bit on the curvy side... okay, maybe more than just a little curvy... but even so, I can manage every single move! I really push myself and work up quite a sweat, and I feel like the results show up pretty quickly! I'd definitely recommend it!

So, what’s the deal with that mousepad they give out as a little gift from AT&T?

Look, since it’s being handed out for free, you can probably guess exactly how much quality we're talking about here. 😁
