One month pregnant—accidentally took an entire pack of birth control pills at once

My mother is clearly losing it, one way or another. I don't buy this story—and if there’s an actual emergency, she belongs in the ER at Mayo Clinic.

On the flip side, I haven't met a single woman who went through with having a baby and then regretted her choice to give birth! Though, that's not just about morality, it's about responsibility; if you're old enough to have sex, you're old enough to handle the consequences!

If we’re actually supposed to believe everything she posts on this forum, she’ll probably be walking down the aisle by tomorrow morning. I guess it might be a bit much to wish her a happy marriage, but I truly hope her baby grows up to have a long, healthy life. Honestly, I just really hope her partner turns out to be a whole lot smarter and more responsible than she is.

To be honest, this whole fairy tale was so intriguing that I actually found myself digging through her other posts on the forum.
There really are only two possibilities here... she’s either lying or she’s mentally unstable.
I’m leaning toward the first option; if she weren't making it up, she would have at least tried to argue her nonsense with some actual points.☕

Give her a break, she’s clearly going through a nightmare. You never know what pushes someone to act out like that. I’m not even going to get into whether her story is 100% legit or not; I just really hope everything turns out okay with the baby and her. So many women end up struggling with postpartum depression after stuff like this happens.

I find myself sitting here, wondering if I'll even be able to have children one day—if everything will just turn out okay—while she acts this way toward such a miracle of life. I actually went back and looked through her other posts, just trying to see if she was even remotely sane. Based on what she's written, she's still pregnant and either getting married or already is. Honestly, I feel bad for her now.
Honey, you can see there are other ways to handle things. You really overreacted with how you acted. I truly hope that whatever you did doesn't end up having any lasting consequences for your child.

I honestly think that was her plan all along—but once she saw how everyone was reacting on the forums, she probably had second thoughts.
I mean, she’s posting on here that she got married and is pregnant now... it's hard to imagine there wouldn't be some kind of fallout after going through an entire box of birth control.

I mean, it’s not quite like you’re popping birth control pills instead of Tic Tacs, but she really should have shaken each of those 21 tablets out of the blister pack one by one and swallowed them individually... I mean, at any single one of those steps, things could have gone sideways.

Well, yeah, I guess the takeaway here is that she’s getting married and won't be popping back into this thread anymore... the real mystery left hanging is whether she actually took those pills or not. Like Lady in Red mentioned, it seems pretty unlikely there wouldn't be some kind of fallout after taking an entire box, but then again, who's to say for sure? Since we've already established it doesn't cause a miscarriage—otherwise someone would have figured that out by now—we're basically left looking at the effects on the baby or maybe even the mother, which might not show up right away. It honestly gives me the chills thinking about what that much synthetic hormone could do while a baby is still forming during those first three months.

p.s... I can't help but feel that if her only intention was to do it, she probably would have been upfront about wanting to and asking for advice instead of acting like it was already done... though, let's be real, the forum's reaction probably would've been about the same regardless.
