FIA bans engine development

The FIA just slapped a ban on engine development through 2017. Mosley says teams have to lock in their designs by spring 2008 and they're stuck with them for the next decade... what a total joke.

Implementing a development freeze would basically just kill Formula 1 off entirely—it'd be game over long before the ban actually expired. It’s like saying you can play in the NFL, but nobody’s allowed to actually practice during the week. Makes zero sense.😂

And what about the teams that haven't even hit the grid yet, huh🤷? Are they supposed to commit to an engine provider by the end of 2008 too, or do they get some breathing room once they actually show up a year or two down the line?
