I was actually planning on picking up that unit from Phoenix, but I was short on cash—now that I've finally got the money, they aren't even stocking those high-end parts anymore...

Do you guys think the Corsair tuner is actually any good?

I ended up grabbing the last one available. Personally, I think the X tuner is decent, though I find the aesthetics a bit ugly.

I’ve given that some thought myself, but honestly, it feels a bit too basic for my taste... though I suppose everyone has their own preferences, right?

I guess I really need to squeeze a potentiometer in here too 😁

I'm looking to regulate about 7 fans (maybe just 6, let's be real)—any suggestions? Oh, and they're all running off Molex connectors now. (Not sure if that actually matters)

Either my old one or this one—but only if there's a black version available.

It’s really no big deal—honestly, I’m just happy if the sticker actually looks good on my laptop

hahahahahahhahahahahah

Henry Thompson66 from the blog, I see we share the exact same birthday! However, I've got a one-year head start on you—I was born on August 19, 1994.

You're gonna see smoke if they're just connected via Molex—unless you've got that little three-wire header... otherwise, you can't hook them up to potentiometers properly...

That "little guy" with three wires doesn't actually need all three. That third wire is just for RPM readout—which is totally useless unless you’re running a display or hooking it directly to the motherboard. As for power, you can tap into any Molex connector to get what you need. Just grab the yellow wire and the first black one next to it. Effectively, you're treating the yellow as red and keeping the black as black. I’ve done this exact setup with one of my fans; it works perfectly. You can put EVERY single fan on a potentiometer if you want. I've tested it myself.

Is that just a standard red LED bulb (which is what I'm planning to pick up), or is it something specialized? Is it a true red, or does it lean more toward pink?
Also, you're rocking the exact same card I am—the Cyclone PVR.😉

I’m looking to regulate 7 fans (maybe 6), any suggestions? By the way, they’re all running off Molex connectors (if that even matters).

It’s going to be tough to find exactly what you're looking for; most controllers only give you the option to manage 4 fans at once. Your best bet is to pick up one of those units and then just triple up on the stuff you don't care about, maybe tucking them near the back where the PCIe cards sit—that'll basically act as a $6.75. You should prioritize the critical fans on the main 4-channel controller; as for finding something specifically for Molex, you're out of luck; almost everything on the market uses the standard 3-pin connector.😎

Joseph Carter9 said:It’s pretty unlikely you’ll find something like that. Most setups give you control over four fans; just grab one controller and then three more for the intake and exhaust (right where the PCI slots are), and you're basically set with something like an $6.75. You prioritize the important ones on the main 4-way header. Finding something for Molex is going to be a nightmare, though; most people just daisy-chain everything onto those 3-pin connectors 😎
.

Whatever, I've only got one free PCI slot left—one for the GPU, one open (not like I'm running a massive server farm 😬), and one for the network card, plus I've already bolted four fans onto the bottom. Looks like I'll have to scrap the idea of using a manual dial, especially since my fans already have that "annoying little gadget"
included.

You'll likely need to pick up something like this, then I'd suggest either this or this—it's what I'm using right now.

hmm, where would I even find that? And could I maybe run more than one fan off that single header (like at least two)?
Is there some kind of PCI card out there with dedicated fan headers?

Is there such a thing as a PCI card with fan headers?

You can find it at ve Mil—check under Cables and power adapters, part number 2780015. That should be the one. It’s about $2.25. 🙂

Is that just your standard red neon light (thinking about grabbing one myself) or is it something special? Like, is it actually red or more of a pinkish shade?
And hey, you're running the exact same card I am—the Cyclone, right? 😉
Those are some neon lights from Revoltec—they're definitely red.
So, how are you liking that card so far?

ABSOLUTELY, I just picked up some red ones that were actually more of a pinkish hue; I ended up "tinting" them myself so they’re a deep, solid red now.

Anyway, are you happy with yours?

I'm pretty happy with the card itself—but man, that software? It’s driving me absolutely insane...
