I I went ahead and bought those "pink" neon socks myself... heh

But I ended up tweaking them a bit so they look great now; I only applied one coat so they don't look tacky or overly bright.

Just grab some red spray paint (or you can just dip a brush into a little container of red dye) and lightly tint the sock—just go bit by bit until that pink shade is completely gone.

Trust me, it works....

I personally wouldn't even bother painting the case—but if someone really likes that look, or thinks painting the inside adds some kind of aesthetic vibe, then... I guess... whatever.
I think this would look pretty good—I'd probably just add a switch, maybe, so you could toggle the neon lights on and off whenever you feel like it.

Joshua Davis18 said:I've got some neons—actually two—but they're way too bright😢 and just end up lighting up the top of the case where all my cables are tangled together

I mean, white or pink LEDs would probably look better with that case color. Maybe even more pink...

Bryan Sanchez86 said:Honestly, given the color of that case, you either need white or hot pink neon lights to match. Actually, let's go with pink. It’s more your vibe.

Trust me, they’re an absolute disaster; maybe just spray paint them like Joseph Carter9 suggested, because I have a switch for neon lights but zero clue where I'd even mount it. 😕And once I actually hook up the neons, I'll be left with extra wiring hanging everywhere... ugh, I have absolutely nowhere to hide the mess.

Where are you even going to put the switch? I mean, this is a case modding thread—do something creative with it...😁

You just grab some microswitches and drill some holes through that plastic casing where the floppy drive goes.

Just tuck it behind the case, maybe under the power supply. There’s gotta be a gap somewhere you can wedge the switch into. 🤣

I’ve been mulling this over for a bit.

1. Let's actually nominate someone from the crew to take over as hardware moderator.
2. I should probably just start a dedicated chat thread 🙏🙏🙏 instead of us all spamming the case modding section.

I'm leaning toward the second option.

We don't need a mod. If they won't fix the banana lag caused by the chat, fine. 😛
Maybe just open a dedicated chat topic...🙂

EDIT: I sent a PM to a mod asking to make the "which laptop should I buy???" thread a sticky, but got nothing back. Meanwhile, Joseph Carter9 sends a PM and suddenly Casey Williams5 gets a sticky. Makes sense, right? 🙂

A dedicated thread could always be opened...🙂

You probably didn't present your idea very well; the key is to properly pitch what you have in mind and, naturally, direct it toward the specific person you think is most capable of making it happen. You seem a little jealous, or perhaps...

@ switch for the neon lights; I drilled a small hole in that 3.5" casing and installed the round toggle switch that comes with those neon kits. I tucked the starter above the hard drive so it stays out of sight. If your cables are too short—just extend them. Use some crimp connectors and a bit of two-core wire (just be careful not to swap the L and D wires) and you're good to go.

northerncrane33 said:Look, just shove that switch behind the case, maybe tucked right underneath the power supply unit; I’m positive there’s some kind of gap or little nook where you can wedge it in there!🤣

And what else is there to talk about? Honestly, where does it even end?
