So much for "fairness." After six games and six straight wins—well, maybe excluding that one against Denmark—we’re looking at a math problem. If we win, there’s a 99% chance we face the French (which means facing the home crowd in the semis, probably 15,000 fans and biased refs). If we lose, it’s almost certainly Iceland. Honestly? Screw the calculations. If someone needs rest, let them rest, but if they’re on the court, they should be playing at 100%. We aren't amateurs, and the last thing we need is to start playing safe. Besides, we have a score to settle from that game in Switzerland; back then, their guys like Oeyer and Dinart wouldn't give us an inch, but they won't pull that stunt twice against us... and we already saw what happens when their goalie and defense have an off night in Tunisia.😎There is absolutely no reason to be intimidated. This generation has the grit and the swagger to go 10/10 in this tournament, beat anyone worth mentioning on the world stage, and take home the gold. At the end of the day, we’re all chasing the same gold. It doesn't matter who gets there first or who's lagging behind; trying to overthink the math is just a waste of breath. Maybe there's some tactical reason to pace ourselves, but honestly, let the brass at HQ handle that. They know the drill. And someone made a good point earlier—it's not just our guys feeling the burn; the opposition is exhausted too. Let's just go get that gold and show those arrogant Spaniards what's what.

Look, we've got the talent, that's not the issue. We could take on anyone. The real headache is this damn schedule, and I’m genuinely worried it might come back to haunt us.

From what I can see, our first major hurdle is going to be a brutal scrap against the Spaniards.

If we pull that off, we're looking at a 99% chance of facing the French next. They aren't exactly our favorite matchup, and when they're on their game, they'll absolutely steamroll the Canadians by nearly twenty points. But even that isn't the dealbreaker—we can beat them too.

Then it's the Germans, who we usually match up well against ( 😬 ), but it's still going to be a grind once you factor in the officiating, the crowd, and all that other noise.

I don't doubt for a second that we could win that one, too, but then after grinding through three absolute wars, we'd likely run straight into those Spaniards again in the finals—and they'll be sitting there coasting and resting while we're exhausted. They've pulled that exact move on us before.

Tomorrow's game doesn't actually mean much for our trajectory. I'm not saying we should go easy, but we definitely shouldn't burn ourselves out. Whoever plays should give it their all, but we don't need to throw the whole roster at it, right? 😉

Peter is struggling a bit, Vory is hovering around somewhere, Balic could probably afford one more slow game, and both Sulic and Valcic need to find their rhythm. Maybe we should get a look at Duvnjak too; Dominikovic will definitely have something to say to the Spaniards, plus he's well-rested.

Man, it would suck if we end up finishing 9/10 just because we blew it on this one game.

But honestly, screw it, it's going to be an incredible game regardless. Those Spaniards are going to be playing the numbers game even harder than we are, and don't even get me started on the other group—they aren't exactly itching to face us either.

I’m not really one for benching guys either, I’m more about just letting them recover... and honestly, I’d hate to see Balic out there on the court tomorrow. And Metlicic? He belongs on the sidelines right now. This pace is absolutely brutal, and we seriously need both of them rested up if we want any shot at the quarterfinals. Sure, other teams are dropping games too, and everyone else is feeling the fatigue, but that doesn't really change anything for us... because there's no room left for mistakes.

It seems we're the ones worrying about who to align with and how, when the reality is actually quite the opposite. The entire second group is practically shaking in their boots 😬 Nobody wants to end up being the third or fourth wheel, yet here we are, losing sleep over it.

I will simply say that we are incredibly strong 🙂

...it seems like everyone wants everything handed to them on a silver platter, except for us (and maybe the Americans). If I'm reading the situation correctly, they're playing today before we even step on the field... honestly, there's no point in trying to calculate the matchups ahead of time. It just happens. And frankly, I don't think the Americans will be playing that aggressively either, mostly because they're more intimidated by the French than we are—we aren't even worried about them. 👍Lino already has his "trust me, I'm running this show" formula ready to go.

No injuries here, just exhaustion—but man, everyone else looks even more wiped out. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve got the best roster in the league and, more importantly, the deepest bench and the greatest coach in the game. Honestly, that gold trophy is basically ours for the taking; I don't think there's a squad on this planet that can stop us. Coach is a straight-up genius for getting two top-tier lineups this ready... he's a legend among legends. 🙏 🙏 ...and one more thing to keep in mind—our guys are cruising at about 60% capacity and still winning without breaking a sweat. When it actually matters, they can turn it up way higher than this... it's a wild group of players. 👍

Perhaps (with a capital M!) the Canadians will finally get lucky and land a matchup against the Americans😁! If that actually happens, they’d be facing off against us, wouldn't they? Though, let's be honest, I wouldn't hold my breath on that one. Regardless, if we're serious about taking home the championship, there's no way around it: we have to beat everyone in our path, plain and simple!

I honestly believe we can blow them out of the water if we play our hearts out during those first 20 minutes. If we can establish a solid lead early on, we’ll have the breathing room to swap in our second unit and just run up the score, much like how the Danish teams tend to dominate.
Maybe they'll just decide to throw the game away at this point...
As far as conditioning goes, our preseason training was top-notch. I really feel like all that hard work is going to pay off when we hit the semifinals and the championship rounds; the boys should be at peak fitness while our opponents will likely start feeling the fatigue.
Plus, now that we have David leading the way, we're sitting at a 5-1 record with a 6.0 defense, so that 3-2-1 formation isn't going to wear us down like it used to.

Look, I’m telling you, it doesn't really matter who we face; we can take anyone. The real issue is how the bracket shakes out and whether we end up facing two massive combinations on our way to the finals. Imagine if one side of the bracket is an absolute bloodbath while the other side is just a walk in the park? It would be such a total injustice if we go a perfect 7/7 only to get hit with that brutal path.

Peter says there's no playing games here—if anyone wants to figure out how to dodge us, they can try on their own.

Of course, if we end up losing, everyone will immediately jump to the conclusion that it only happened because we let them win.
The truth is, we tend to lose touch with reality more often than we care to admit.

Well, the underdog managed to pull within five points with just five minutes left on the clock, but they spent the entire first half trading baskets with the Majors. Since they don't have the luxury of rotating their bench, their starter is going to have to log at least fifty minutes.
I think if David gives Peter a breather in the defense today and lets Vukovic and Vukic see more floor time, everything should run smoothly 🙏 🙏 At least until we reach the finals 😁
