Hey everyone... we've talked a lot about breakouts and acne here, but I'm honestly at my wit's end.
My face is actually fine—just the occasional spot during my cycle, which is totally manageable. But my back is a disaster area. I'm dealing with massive, deep cystic acne all over my shoulders, my shoulder blades, and even running up my spine toward my neck. The pain on my shoulder blades is so intense that sometimes I can't even lie down comfortably. I absolutely dread summer because of this; I can't wear tank tops or sundresses, even when it's hitting 100 degrees outside. 👎It calmed down for a little while, but now it's back and worse than ever.
I heard a rumor that drinking Kraft might be triggering these breakouts... I've been having it every single day for the last two months. 😕What do you guys think?

It’s worst across my shoulders, my shoulder blades, and running up my spine toward my neck. These spots on my shoulder blades hurt so bad I can barely lie down some nights. I absolutely loathe summer because of this; I can't wear tank tops or sundresses, even when it’s a blistering 104 degrees outside. 👎Things calmed down for a bit, but now it's a total nightmare again.

It's nearly impossible to pinpoint your exact trigger, but honestly, about 90% of girls dealing with PCOS struggle with skin issues. If that's the case, the root cause is hormonal. Go see a gynecologist for a full workup to rule that out.
I know plenty of women who started birth control just to clear up their complexion. Personally, I never had major acne, but I'd get breakouts in my T-zone and on my back every single month right before my period. Because of endometriosis, I'm on birth control (Yasmin) now, and my skin is flawless—smooth as a baby's bottom.
A friend of mine handled her issue through a dermatologist, but she went through absolute hell for three months straight, cycling through endless compresses, ointments, and pills. I know her doctor recommended zinc supplements, since they're supposed to be great for acne.

I don't think it's from the Kraft you're drinking. It could actually be related to PCOS. You should probably go see a dermatologist and a gynecologist.

And honestly? Just get some bloodwork done to check your hormone levels too...
That's my advice if you want to stop wasting your life bouncing from one skin doctor to another after they fail to fix you.

Could it be an allergy?

Psychologists argue that internal conflict can manifest physically as acne—essentially a symptom of failing to accept who you really are.

Kraft is known to trigger UTIs, too, so maybe your issue is actually just that... just a thought.

I honestly think it’s the Kraft... I used to break out in acne all the time whenever I was drinking it constantly... so I finally cut it out and after just two weeks, I could already see a huge difference in my skin!!

I don’t even know how old you are, Nelly, but man, I’ve been fighting my skin—well, specifically my complexion—for fifteen years straight. And get this: I don’t have PCOS or any other gynecological issues. My testosterone levels are even within the "normal" range, whatever that actually means. It’s clearly not some massive hormonal imbalance. I’ve cycled through all the big-shot dermatologists, hundreds of creams, antibiotics, "miracle" cures... and nothing. Now I have slightly fewer breakouts, but it’s still pathetic. And I moved past puberty a lifetime ago. The latest theory from the dermatologist I’m seeing right now? Apparently, my acne is caused by milk!! On top of genetics and hormones. Oh, and stress, of course. So this guy put me through oxygen facials and two rounds of laser treatments, and my face is still a total disaster zone. Honestly, ever since I "fixed" my diet based on his orders, I’ve lost 3 pounds and now I look like I’m practically anorexic. Supposedly, I have to cut out all dairy, smoked foods, anything fried, pork fat, fast food, Coke, etc. Just eat "healthy" and gorge myself on whatever vitamins he prescribes—all while dropping a small fortune on these treatments. I’m losing my mind because I’m getting married in two months and nobody can help me.
I honestly don't know what to tell you. The only thing left for me is to try hormone therapy, even if just for a short stint, just so I don't look like one giant zit.
The bottom line is that all these dermatologists are just guessing at what's wrong. Nobody can give you a real diagnosis or actually cure you. At least they haven't helped me.
Anyway, hope my experience helps somehow... though, I really hope things go better for you than they did for me 🙂
