So, the movie is okay. Honestly, that pervasive wokeness running through the entire premise doesn't really help make it better for me. It wasn't exhausting, though—it didn't leave me feeling drained the way The Northman did—but I wouldn't call it groundbreaking either. The whole multiverse concept has been done plenty of times before; if my memory serves me right, maybe it was handled best in Mr. Nobody. At its core, this is just a family drama with some woke elements wrapped up in a multiverse gimmick. There are definitely some good scenes, but there’s also some cringe. Overall, I felt the approach to both the family dynamics and the multiverse theme was just a bit too simplistic. That one scene with the rock was good, even if the dialogue was lacking, and I can totally see why people who aren't into this "TikTok" culture wouldn't vibe with it. It wasn't a bad movie, and it certainly wasn't terrible, but if it hadn't had those woke elements, I think I would have liked it a lot more.
That said, I get why some people might find it lacking; maybe I'm just reaching a point where I struggle to connect with these characters. It definitely has its highlights and a few funny moments, so it's a solid enough watch.
