How much do you guys care about word choice?

For me, a killer melody is what really hits those emotional chords—it’s almost like the lyrics don't even matter that much when I'm just vibing with the sound. But, I mean, I get it—at the end of the day, both pieces need to actually make sense together if you want a masterpiece.

Just wanted to jump in on what Pips was saying... honestly, their words don't even matter. If they weren't being so incredibly dim-witted and vague, it still wouldn't change anything—the whole thing would just be total garbage from a bottom-tier garage band.

It depends, I guess. Sometimes the lyrics matter to me, and sometimes they don't. There are songs, maybe some old jazz tracks in French, where I don't understand even 5% of what's being said, but they still sound incredible just because of the music and the delivery... but usually, if the lyrics are nonsense, I can't really get into it.
