Day of the Dead (2008)

I suppose all the older films were quite slow. In the newer ones, they seem to have adopted the frantic pace of Ben in OI in Seoul.

The ones running around are just idiots, not actual zombies.
Real zombies should be rotting, smelling terrible, and barely dragging themselves down the street.
They’d make some pathetic "graaarrrgggg" sound—not anything truly intimidating, just sounding exhausted and miserable.
But you'd still piss yourself the moment you saw them...🥳

Honestly, those things running at you aren't even zombies—they're just total idiots.
The original zombies? They’re just rotting, stinking messes barely dragging themselves down the street.

Honestly, you’ll just wet yourself the second you lay eyes on them.

Those first ones? They were real zombies. To me, that was the whole point of the movie—they were slow, lumbering, and creepy. But even then, everyone still panicked, barricaded themselves in, and bolted the second they caught a glimpse of them. These newer sequels have just turned into pure action flicks instead of actual horror. Honestly, at this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up seeing Dolph Lundgren jumping into the next one.

Why is today's population so easily spooked by nothing but nonsense? ☕

Yeah, the real issue is that the movie is just standard garbage. 😛 It has absolutely nothing to do with the game. They just took a few small details and some "borrowed" characters from the games, and that's about it.

It’s a mistake to compare Resident Evil to Romanov's zombie films, because we all know which movies actually hold up, don't we? There isn't much violence to speak of—in fact, RE: Apocalypse might be the first "zombie" flick that doesn't rely on heavy gore effects. It feels more like a stylized action-horror hybrid with a few little homage nods to Dawn of the Dead. And sure, Mila makes kissing everyone look like she's barely sixteen. By the third installment, Extinction, they claim it'll be knee-deep in blood. As they say—we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out!

Sienna doesn't appear in the third "Resident Evil" movie—she was busy filming "Eragon," and since the production schedules overlapped, they brought in Claire Redfield ("Resident Evil 2" and Resident Evil: Code Veronica) and Wesker instead.

Off-topic: Here is rumor number one regarding the "Dawn of the Dead" remake: remember Bubba from the original, the only zombie with actual training? Well, they’ve changed that for the remake. Apparently, they added a vegetarian zombie: some soldier who happens to be a vegetarian gets bitten and turns into a zombie that refuses to eat people. I am not joking.

Screener leaked online a few days ago, so you can expect some reviews to start popping up very soon 😁 However, the early word is that the movie is absolute garbage.

I know it leaked, and honestly, it’s hardly a masterpiece—more like something you'd find straight on Netflix. 🤷
