Honestly, this heat is just completely wrecking me. I headed out for work around 7:30 this morning and walked maybe ten minutes to catch the bus, but by the time I reached the stop, I was absolutely drenched. Then, just five minutes later, I felt like I was about to pass out—just this intense weakness and dizziness, it was pretty scary, actually. Luckily, a nearly empty bus pulled up right then, so I managed to grab a seat, but man, who knows what would've happened otherwise. It’s been creepy at the office, too; we have to kick the AC on every once in a while because everyone's dealing with those pounding headaches. When I finally headed home, it was more of the same: feeling weak, shaky, and having this heavy pressure in my head, like I could keel over at any second. I was so relieved when I got home to the AC, but even an hour later, my head is still throbbing and I'm definitely not feeling 100%. I really hope it's just the heat getting to me.

How are you guys holding up?

I feel at least 20 pounds heavier than I actually am.

And then I have people telling me they actually love summer and its inevitable descent into a living hell!🙄

There was a time when summer was my absolute favorite season, while winter was easily the worst...
Lately, though, both winter and this particular stretch of summer have been nothing short of brutal.

I’m exhausted just making the trek from my desk to my bed—my AC is running twenty hours a day, yet the heat still manages to find me.

Luckily, I'm actually on vacation right now, so I don't have to commute to that rural office—well, more like a greenhouse—where I work, which doesn't even have air conditioning. I can only hope next week treats me a bit better.

The AC has become a basic survival tool today, much like wearing a hat, seeking shade, and slathering on sunscreen just to make it through a trip downtown.

I feel 😵

So, how does that actually affect things? You already know the drill... they just lounge around, hanging out at coffee shops, soaking up the breeze (assuming they even bother to show up in the first place)... and that's about it. 😂, what else is there to say?

Life is good. Spent today hopping between islands for coffee. I'm sweating like crazy, but honestly? It feels like being in a damn sauna. 😍

I can’t stand the heat. Honestly, as long as I’m in an office with good AC, I’m fine. Same at home, too. Even the subway stays cool, my car has climate control, the grocery stores are chilled, and the airports are freezing. The only catch is that I can't stand sleeping with the AC cranking at night; if I turn it off, I end up tossing and turning for a bit while I try to adjust to the temperature.

Gross

I'm all bloated, exhausted, and my brain is basically mush

And my "peak" 😠 experience? Stepping out of the shower only to be sweating again within 15 seconds—ugh, gross👎

The AC is running in the living room so it’s fine there, but everywhere else👎

I just want some snow😛

The heat and the sun totally woke me up around 11 AM

So then I just sort of wander over to grab some coffee around 12:30, but once that midday sun really starts beating down... man, I just don't feel like doing anything at all :/

I tolerate them quite well (unless you count my constant stickiness). My only issue is waking up early because I just can't sleep.
Otherwise, it's fine! 👍 Definitely better than dealing with a Nor'easter...

Absolutely dreadful... everything is gray, sticky, and the humidity is somehow even higher than usual. Honestly, when is this snow finally going to show up?🙂

I’ve been feeling completely out of it all day. I just can't seem to snap out of it. Every time I sit down to study, I feel like I'm physically glued to my chair—my notes practically stick to my knees. As soon as I settle in, I drift off immediately. Then I wake up with these sharp pains in my hips and sides from having such restless dreams. Honestly, I feel even more exhausted after waking up than I did before.

Man, this heat is killing me. Even though it’s not actually that hot at my job site, my work is super physical, so I’m sweating like crazy. It feels like everything is just dripping down my back and lower while I'm on my feet working about 10 hours a day. I honestly just cannot deal with the heat...

Maria James88,
the only thing I’m absolutely certain of is
quote:
"in the office, it's honestly creepy—we only turn the AC on every once in a while because it just blasts everyone in the face."

Clearly, you have no idea how to actually manage an office thermostat.

So you clearly don't know how to work the thermostat at the office.

I mean, when there's just one central unit for the whole company and it's blasting directly down from the ceiling onto your neck, head, and back... there isn't really anything you *can* adjust...

and yeah, one thing I am pretty certain about is this: you clearly can't spell! 😬

Honestly, this is just wonderful—so much better than dealing with a brutal winter! Sure, I get a little dizzy every once in a while 😵 but I’ll take that over freezing my toes off any day. I've been counting down the days until summer just so I could finally shed these ridiculous, heavy layers of clothing.

😵 Imagine having it hit 90 degrees in your room at night... I haven't had a decent night's sleep in 10 days...

I can't stand the summer heat.
The only thing I actually look forward to during the summer is hitting the beach, and honestly, that's about it.
