Look, you can't just throw a concert together these days without the band hitting a wall at the border. Between customs seizing their gear, blocking the merch, or refusing entry altogether... you end up pissed off and bitter. By the time it's over, you aren't even in the mood to watch the damn show you paid for. It’s like if there isn't a massive headache involved, it isn't a real tour.

Honestly, I'm too old for that shite 🙂

things would've been a bit less boring.

The forum says the last post on this thread was by David Sullivan4, but I can't see anything from him. I checked over at the Science department too—not that they actually explained anything to me about what I was promised. Kind of weird, I guess.

I mean, I was actually pretty happy with how things were going—everything seemed just fine, really. 🙂

I guess I’ll just leave all the generic, jokey comments about the front menu to you guys... maybe that's better that way—honestly, I don't even know.

I’ve had two mental breakdowns today. Just finally walked through my front door, argh. The guys took a total wrong turn, such an embarrassing situation 🙂 oh man, just awful. These two girls were totally leading them astray, and they're all just poor married dudes 🙂
Anyway, the concert was super cool, though I can't say I was paying full attention since I was in such a state of mental chaos. The guys are saying this was their best gig in the States so far, and they were just playing with Liars across Germany last week. Ah, Liars...
Thanks to everyone who showed up. Mate, I didn't see you at the show... hope you made it. In all my rushing, I totally forgot to hit you up and let you know how everything went.

Now I'm stuck finishing up some book layout for SC—deadline is tomorrow... They realized I actually know my way around prepress, so now I'm getting screwed 😳

The main thing is that they made it here in one piece... Honestly, I feel bad that you had to deal with such a brutal initiation right out of the gate. Ever since Frank Wright14 and David Sullivan4 stepped in, things have been a hell of a lot easier for me—mostly because those two manage to blow past the limits every single time. Heh

Just make sure the film doesn't leak out.

Mato, will the flooring be more like a terrace, similar to "The Relatives," or is it going to be decent?

Why ask me? Ask him...

Relatives is about as consistent as those last three Tortoise albums—half the record is great, while the other half feels just as lackluster as that Tortoise stuff mentioned above...
But since our good friend and the best drummer in New York (who moved out of Chicago) is joining us today, I’m betting the good half will carry the day...

I’m genuinely impressed.

Honestly, if a band from a small town like Des Moines puts on a show that high-caliber, I might just pack my bags and head out to rural Nebraska to spend some time rolling around in the mud. 🙂

I never even questioned their character🙂

Sure, I feel the same way about the flooring. The patio is top-tier, though. Ever since he left, everything has just gone downhill. Honestly, that pretentious West Coast jazz vibe doesn't sit right with my sensibilities. At the end of the day, I prefer the raw stuff on "relatives."

Whatever. See you at the show. We'll grab a beer and pester the band until they play the Ramones.

It’s actually a law of nature. Yesterday, Pritt and I independently reached the exact same conclusion: the entire concert sounded like the intro to a U2 track. Meanwhile, Moose—completely oblivious to our thoughts—decided the whole thing sounded more like the kraj of a U2 song. 🤣

The band was absolute garbage, obviously, but the night was alright. I flexed my sarcasm muscles, yelled at them to play some Djubrivo, and got properly hammered. Honestly, what more can you ask for... 🙂

Am I really the only one out here who thinks their last two or three albums were actually solid?
I mean, sure, they’re a bit short, but man, they pack a punch!
To be honest, I wouldn't even want them still churning out stuff like Millions...
For me, it's all about the Standards zakon ploča.
I’ll admit, the runtime on that last one starts feeling a little stretched toward the end, but honestly, some things just work regardless.😍

And the main thing is that the Heart Chakra isn't working either. 🙄

I’m really hoping you’re talking about that one guy—you know, the radical extremist type.🙂Well, you guys already know exactly where I stand when it comes to the Heart Chakra.😍

I’d argue *Standards* is actually better than those three. Honestly, both concerts I attended were way more underwhelming than anything from TNT or that last release. I wouldn't be against them recording a new *Millions*, but I definitely wouldn't want them churning out garbage like the last one. Then again, it probably doesn't matter since they clearly checked out a long time ago...

Regarding Heart Chakra, I actually put in the effort to listen to it again after five years, and it isn't terrible. If you can just forget it's the same band that previously released *Tropics & Meridians*, *4 Great Points*, and that absolute mess called *SHARKS & SAILORS*. Personally, Heart Chakra feels a bit too slick—kind of that overly polished, collegiate vibe. Otherwise, it's okay. The production is a bit too precious, though. Is that better, Robin Booth?
