There are some really cool titles on the list, though I definitely have questions about some of these nominations (but hey, since when have these awards actually been a benchmark for quality? It’s mostly just fancy commercials at this point)

Based on what everyone's expecting right now, it looks like Spotlight and The Revenant are leading the pack for Drama, while they’re clearly treating The Martian like a comedy or a musical. There's some solid competition for the male acting roles in the Drama category, but for the women, it’s basically just Blanche and nobody else. Also, I am totally loving that Al Pacino is even in the running for Comedy! As for directing, it's the same group as Best Picture—all Drama...

I don't know about anything else, though. I'm not going to sit here and guess, and I don't really have a strong opinion yet 😛 I seriously need to sit down and watch these heavy hitters; they've looked intriguing to me for ages.

I'm crossing my fingers that Spotlight and The Martian walk away with some wins—it should make for a decent night. I see Steve Carell is on the list, so we already know exactly how Ricky is going to behave. 😁

Spotlight and The Big Short/The Martian.

Honestly, I don't think The Martian even deserves a nomination, let alone a win. It’s just... mediocre.
Blanchet was fantastic—she actually has a shot at taking home an award—but as for the men, I still need to see most of them. People are saying DiCaprio is the favorite this year; I really hope he finally gets one.

The only thing I'm actually looking forward to with these awards is Gervais. 🎉

The Martian isn't an Oscar contender, and let's be real—DiCaprio is basically carrying this whole movie on his back while everyone waits for that long-overdue Oscar win. It’s pretty obvious if you think about it.

Even if this little trophy isn't quite the big Oscar, we’re all still crossing our fingers that Leo takes it home. I mean, the guy literally slept inside a dead horse for that role, so he's earned it. 😍

I’m already not a fan of Spotlight, and I haven't even seen it yet. Out of everything available, The Big Short is still the best.

I haven't had a chance to dive into much yet, but out of everything I've watched so far, *The Big Short* might actually be my favorite.

There’s always a bunch of different streams popping up, but that's not really my issue... does anyone know which networks will be airing it? I used to rely on CBS, but they always had those annoying audio sync issues, and now I don't even have access to them anymore.😢
