Can someone please explain why on earth Valcic isn't playing? I honestly need an answer. 😬

frozentiger6 said:But seriously, what is going on with Valcic??? 😁

Anyway, guys, it looks like Alilovic won't be able to play for Team USA anytime soon. There's this new rule being implemented that requires any player looking to switch citizenship to play for a club within that country for a full year, and then they have to wait an additional three years after that.

I’d bet my life savings that this is just some scheme cooked up by those Spanish and Scandinavian types.🤮

Man, I should be the one giving you an answer...

Valcic isn't playing because... 🙂

...mod tools.😬

Oh, please. You’re acting like this is some massive global conspiracy aimed at taking down Americans. Give me a break. 😁

So, Valcic, I’m curious too. What's the deal? 😁

Just ask him—Paul Lopez49 is right here. I can't deal with him myself because he’s got me on ignore, that absolute jerk. 😁

Maybe ask him, Paul Lopez49—he’s right here. I can't, though; I have Judah on ignore. 😁

I have about 90% of this forum on ignore, so who am I supposed to ask? All I see are you, me, and Ex here. 😁

Paul Lopez49 As stated by:
Could someone please clarify why Valcic isn't playing? I would truly appreciate an answer. 😬

Are you being serious right now? What kind of logic are you even using here?
For three years now, Tonči peder Valčić has consistently ignored every single request to join preseason training, whether they come via phone call or in writing.
He probably thinks he’s some kind of superstar like Teo Kardum, so naturally, he expects to be a lock for the starting six.
Actually, I have this little quirk where I prefer talking about myself in the third person; that's just how we all greet one another here in Qatar.😬

Tony Valčić is ignoring every single call—written or verbal—to show up for training. This has been going on for three years now.
I suppose the kid thinks he’s some superstar like Theo Kardum and demands a guaranteed spot in the starting lineup.

I am being serious. And what could possibly be the reason? I know Goluza refused to play because he felt we were too weak, 🤮
but as for Valčić, I haven't the slightest clue.

Tony Valinho Valčić doesn't owe anyone an apology for his status on the national team. He is a superstar, yet these people treat him with such utter disrespect.
There I go again, talking about myself in the third person.
I don't see what the fuss is about regarding Goluza; he showed up the moment Lino called him, just like how he was sidelined from the roster alongside Zrnić.

Well, Tony Valčić gave you his answer: 😉

Paul, if I got a dollar every single time someone asked me what happened to Valcic, I’d be retired on a beach somewhere. Nobody actually knows. People claim his girlfriend dumped him, but I don't buy those rumors for a second.
The guy clearly isn't thinking straight.

Back in the day, right before the Olympics and the World Cup in Tunis, there was all this talk about him struggling with weed and supposedly testing positive before the Olympics, which is why he wasn't sent. But honestly, that's just hearsay.

Nobody knows—not even Cervar, not even Gobac, nobody has a clue what went down with Valcic. He's been off the grid for three years now. Three years of nothing. No appearances, no contact, just radio silence. 😁

Paul Lopez49 said:I’m being dead serious here. Why? Because I know Goluza turned down playing because he thought we were too weak. 🤮
As for Tony Valčić, I didn't have a clue what was going on there.

It wasn't Goluza, it was that idiot Cavar.

He actually turned down the call-up right before the game against Portugal, claiming he had more important things to do—basically embarrassing himself by blowing off a national team appearance.

Auu, I suppose you're right; I got them mixed up. 😳
And I used to actually respect Cavar as a decent man, once. 🤮

frozentiger6 said:So, here is what Tony Valčić said about him. 😉

Paul Lopez49, if I had a dollar for every time someone asked me what happened to Valcic, I’d be a millionaire by now. I guess nobody really knows; there's some rumor about a breakup with a girlfriend, but I don't buy that hearsay.
He clearly isn't thinking straight.

Back then, before the Olympics in Athens and the World Cup in Tunis, people were whispering that he was struggling with marijuana use and had even tested positive before Athens, which is why he didn't go, but that's all just speculation.

It's anyone's guess. Not even Cervar or Gobac know what's going on with Valcic. He hasn't been seen in three years—just three years of total silence, no appearances, nothing. 😁

Women just ruin everything. 😁
It's the exact same situation as with Thomas; nobody actually knows the truth, everyone just has their own version of the story...

Look, Cavar might be a total pain in the ass, but he’s hands down the best left winger America has ever produced.

Honestly, he belongs in the conversation for one of the greatest players on the planet.

He and Smajlagic have been the most dominant wing duo in the world for years. If we had those two at their absolute peak playing for us today, there wouldn't even be a debate about winning the gold medal.

I still think about that generation that brought home the gold. Honestly, those guys were something else—I’d even go so far as to say they were better than anyone we have playing today.

They’re definitely a better unit now—deeper bench, more reliable keepers—but they really felt the absence of Balica.

No offense intended, but they weren't even in the same league. Their only real advantage was having a superior coach.

I don't know about that... I mean, handball was just different back then. IMHO
