If my memory isn't totally shot, today marks the anniversary of that massive win against the Mexicans in Tunis to clinch a spot in the semifinals.🙂

What we saw on the field yesterday was actually pretty normal: just some casual chatter between the American and Mexican handball players, a few hugs, some mutual congratulations, and a fair game from both sides. The guys showed us what happens when you finally push nationalism and politics out of sports.

It used to be quite easy to slip through without any trouble. I remember being a bit tipsy while driving once, and we were all bumping into each other—about five or six cars in a convoy—traveling from the outskirts all the way into the city center.😁

The sad part? While those players are shaking hands, swapping numbers, and building actual friendships, you’ve got the "big shot" Americans and Mexicans outside tearing each other apart. I guess they're just terrified someone might think they aren't being "patriotic" enough?
