Susan Clark10 said:You forgot about the patriarchy—it's just greedy male capitalists versus poor, oppressed women who can't catch a break. 😈

Man, it was a solid top 5 list, though. 😬 Still can't get past the red tape, the religion, the weirdos, and how they treat women. But other than that, pretty much. Same here. 😈

Susan Clark10 said:Look, get ready. Some guy's gonna come at you during a systematic drill asking you to break down some dense crap from Capital, so you might want to go make friends with Marx sooner rather than later. 😬

Systematically? I don't see that mentioned anywhere in the course syllabus. Maybe they snuck it into the grad program? 🤔

I honestly can't believe they've stripped the most important subject from the curriculum—especially since it basically functions as the final exam. 😲 It’s just not what it used to be. Even that old system isn't what it once was. 😬

So you’re looking at 3 years undergrad plus 2 for grad school, but our setup is just a 3-year core with electives spread across all 5. If it isn't an elective, they'll probably just cram it into the final two years.

Realized I’m out of milk, so I need to hit the grocery store immediately because:

The top 13 essentials my fridge and pantry absolutely require to prevent a total cosmic collapse:

1 beer
2 Horizon Organic
3 cookies
4 bread
5 onions
6 tequila
7 salsa
8 mayo
9 olives
10 chocolate
11 eggs
12 soda
13 coffee

Everything else is pretty much irrelevant.

My ultimate ranking of the worst non-musical background noises:

1. The sound of a tennis match playing on the TV in the next room = the pure sound of boredom 😱
2. That same tennis match—specifically the sudden roar of a Formula 1 race starting up
3. The symphony of clinking silverware during a Sunday afternoon brunch in a busy city like Chicago
4. The constant, repetitive sound of ocean waves hitting the shore in a sleepy coastal town in Florida on a Sunday afternoon
5. That neighbor who just won't stop renovating their apartment

Mom, you know how Naramč is—he’d probably wish for a blizzard, howling winds, and even Stenmark himself just to have a reason to watch someone slalom around his house. 🤣

I’m with you on the tennis thing. Especially women's tennis. Just... ugh. Total snooze fest. Honestly? It's just one repetitive, mind-numbing loop after another. *Yawn.*
If you were to ask me to narrow down the absolute best sounds in existence—the ones that actually hit different—I’d have to say these three: First off, there is nothing quite like the sound of a heavy downpour hitting a tin roof while you're tucked away somewhere warm and dry. I remember being back in Seattle during one of those relentless autumn storms; just sitting there with a coffee, listening to that rhythmic drumming on the roof... it's pure, unadulterated peace. It drowns out the rest of the world. Second, we have to talk about the crackle of a wood-burning fireplace on a freezing winter night. There’s something primal about it—that sharp snap of the cedar and the low hum of the embers. It’s the ultimate "cozy" vibe, especially when you've spent the whole day dealing with the chaos of the city and just need to reset. And third? The silence of a forest right after a fresh snowfall. Not a true silence, mind you—because nature is never truly quiet—but that muffled, heavy stillness where the snow absorbs every bit of ambient noise from the highway or the nearby suburbs. It’s like the world is holding its breath. Truly transcendent.
I’m going to say this plainly—it’s an absolute necessity. There is simply no other way to look at it.
I honestly don't have enough time to go through every single comment—my schedule is already packed enough as it is—but I will try to address this. It feels like we are constantly circling the same drain, isn't it? Every time a new discussion starts, we end up right back where we began, arguing over the same tired points without actually moving the needle on anything meaningful. It’s exhausting, truly.
The crackling of a fire—it’s more than just noise, isn't it? There is something deeply visceral about that sudden, sharp snapping sound—that "popping" sensation—when you're sitting by a hearth or a campfire. It’s almost like the wood itself is protesting the heat, or perhaps it's just the internal tension finally giving way. I was sitting out near my cabin in the Catskills last winter, just staring into the embers, thinking about how much we overlook those little sensory details in our frantic, modern lives. Most people just see light and heat, but if you actually listen, that popping is a language of its own. It’s rhythmic, unpredictable, and honestly, a bit hypnotic if you let it be.

The sound of fish sizzling over an open flame right by the ocean—there’s just nothing quite like it. It’s one of those sensory experiences that stays with you. 😁

I’ve been sitting here staring at my screen, trying to make sense of this whole situation, and frankly—it just makes my blood boil. There is a certain level of incompetence that I thought we had moved past, but apparently, I was being overly optimistic. It’s one thing to make a mistake; it’s an entirely different matter when that mistake is born out of pure, unadulterated negligence. I remember back when I was working a similar gig in Chicago—just a small, local operation compared to what we're dealing with now—and even then, there were standards. We had a baseline of decency and accuracy that everyone respected. But lately? It feels like those standards have been tossed out the window in favor of whatever the loudest person in the room wants. It’s exhausting. You spend your time meticulously crafting a plan, double-checking every single variable, only to watch someone else come along and trip over their own feet, dragging the whole project down with them. And then, the kicker—the absolute audacity of it all—is the expectation that *we* should be the ones to clean up the mess. Not them. Us. I’m not interested in sugarcoating this for the sake of politeness. If we don't address these systemic failures now, we aren't just looking at a minor setback; we're looking at a complete collapse of credibility. It’s frustrating, it’s inefficient, and quite frankly, it’s beneath us. kaže:
Are we seriously still talking about Glavnja? Or Trnje? Or even Pank? Honestly, I don't know where this obsession comes from—it’s just exhausting. It feels like everyone is stuck in some loop, rehashing the same tired arguments without actually looking at the bigger picture. I remember back when I was living in Chicago, dealing with similar neighborhood disputes that felt just as circular and pointless. You think you're making progress, and then suddenly you realize you've just been spinning your wheels in the same mud for months. It’s maddening.
🙂

Are you out of your mind? ✝️
What would you rather deal with—the constant whirring of a computer fan or some kid banging on a keyboard nearby?
Or maybe you'd prefer that one

The perfect non-musical background noise:

1. Just the sound of waves hitting the shore in some sleepy little coastal town somewhere north of California (though honestly, I wouldn't mind being down south for once), on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Just a quick vibe for maybe two hours, right before it gets interrupted by the sudden, heavy roar of Formula 1 cars tearing down the track. No commentators needed, either. I can see exactly what's going on just fine on my own...

1. your phone
2. a laptop (especially without Wi-Fi)
3. the TV
4. politics
5. sports
6. textbooks
7. makeup
8. anything other than flip-flops
9. a bra
10. a watch
