Look, when it comes down to it, I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture first, and then maybe a bit of a Finn enthusiast😁

Alright, look, you gotta root for the Japanese just like you do for the Finns, no question about it...

These are some of the best expressions out there, mostly used within my own family or maybe a tiny little circle of people I know.

Toplak
Kovataka
Setefatski
Dvoprug
Oteőčilo
Ac ac
Podguzalo
Zabl

I really hope Jerry Mitchell62 sees this, he’d probably be able to recall all of this stuff too...

And where's the spit?
And the uncle too.

Honestly.
I know I'm repeating myself πŸ™„, but what else can I say? I can boil my entire opinion down to just three words: "Look. Above. Avatar." 😁 😁

Aside from thatβ€”man, you really lean hard into those arguments. Where do you even stand on "other sports - ski jumping"?? πŸ˜›

Total chaos. Honestly makes me want to barf (if that's even possible). Give me more riffs and less polish, please.

Look, you aren't really in a position to tell me what's good, especially since I'm pretty insulted that you're asking people who listen to college-rock garbage like Pixies for their opinion. You're either indie or punkβ€”there is no middle ground here!

IMMORTAL
- Battles in the North: THIS is the only real punk energy from the 90s, man.
Burzum - Philosopher: this is basically avant-rock.
At The Gates - Slaughter of The Soul - Slaughter of The Soul: this is straight-up pop, a chart-topper.
Entombed - Wolverine blues - Wolverine blues: basically the equivalent of some New York garage band, just pure death'n'roll.
Marduk - Panzer Division Marduk: the equivalent of Youth of Todayβ€”fast and brainless.
Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger and Panzerfaust
Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and Wolf's Lair EP: DT and Mayhem are totally no wave.

If you don't dig Immortal, just quit black metal right now. Don't be a wimp.
Anyway, here are a few fast ones for you:
Usurper - Threshold of The Usurper
Anal Cunt - Morbid Florist
Death - Human
Threshold of The Usurper Anal Cunt - Morbid Florist Death - Human Bestial Warlust - Venegance war till death
Carcass - just the first one; Heartwork is for softies.
Obituary - Cause of death

If you lean more toward HC/punk, then just drop everything related to Scandinavia immediately, starting with Krigshot, Uncurbed, and then move on to Hellnation and, obviously, Wolfbrigade.

If you're more about Venom/MotΓΆrhead vibes, then go with High On Fire - Blessed black wings. Honestly, you should probably give that a spin if we ever cross paths.

oktopod said:Man, Vaderβ€”plus I think I still have some Polish demo lying around somewhere. Metal! πŸ™‚

LOVE IT! 😍
though you're missing one major thing in that metal list πŸ˜‰

honestly, maybe skip Impaled Nazarene if you can help itβ€”that stuff is pretty much only for the hardcore πŸ™‚

the American black metal essentials:
the classics like Satyriconβ€”or maybe Nemesis Divin 😍 with that anthem Mother North, though Rebel Extravaganza is great too, that guy’s production is something else 😁
Immortal - Battles in the North... total game changer πŸ™‚
Darkthrone - Panzerfaust
Enslaved - Eld
Marduk - Nightwing (SLAY THE NAZARENEEEE πŸ™‚ )
Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Ulver - Nattens Madrigal
Dissection - Storm of the Light's Bane

As for Morbid Angel, I guess Covenant is my favorite. Slow, but good. In rapture I'm reborn πŸ™‚

Yeah, true enough...
I totally forgot
EMPEROR ~ In the Nightside Eclipse is one of those albums you just have to sit down and blast through. Aside from Burzum, it’s easily the most hardcore thing out there. The guitarist Samoth actually burned down a church right after the sessions wrapped up and ended up in the slammer, and then you've got the drummer Bard Eithun aka Faust who literally sacrificed a guy over at Olympic Park in Lillehammer. If that isn't pure metal, I don't know what is.

I’m getting closer to a sound that actually works for me here, but still... I’d rather stay away from that ultra-fast shredding and disco floor screaming. No offense to the disco freaks. Hey Mainker, Orange, stormyviper11...

Can I throw in a synth-pop recommendation? It looks like you've been supplied with enough metal to last a lifetime 😬

Ugh, seriously, Eric πŸ™‚
is gorgeous.
Did you catch that one commercial he was in? It was this black-and-white thing that used to run on ESPN during the World Championships a few years back. Honestly, I could practically predict when they were going to air itβ€”I actually have it recorded somewhere. 😳 😍
