Speaking of cowboy gear, I hit a weird snag today. In that shop over near the edge of the Vlach territory—the one with the guitars sitting in the window—there was this massive guitar-sized box just chilling there. The label clearly read "Fender Banjo Value pack". Like, what kind of logic is that? What are you actually getting inside? A banjo, a family-sized bag of chips, two March Kubricks, and a little firework kit? Seriously...

Let’s be real, you’re secretly dreaming about some gorgeous girl walking up to you and saying, "Hey handsome, I love your style." 😉

And what about us losers??? Is there any chance we get a shot?

Well... if we actually lived in some kind of perfect world, I imagine that kit would come loaded with chewing tobacco, silver spurs, a Stetson, and maybe a gallon of Kentucky moonshine. But since reality is rarely that poetic—all you get is the banjo, an extra set of strings, a little tuner you blow into, and a handful of picks. :howdy:

..plus a fringed My Morning Jacket jacket, obviously.
But what kind of horse would I even be riding? A mare, I guess?
(Did I miss something somewhere?)
You can't exactly ride a gazelle, at least not for hours out in the desert wilderness...

Man, these Stallions are alright—but I’m not talking about the ones with those ridiculous haircuts. I mean the freckled, Wild West types.

So you want the whole package, huh? You want them wild, fast, gritty, and singing in a deep bass-baritone...

And what about us guys??? Can we get close?

Of course you can. It’s actually the perfect time. boldscout72 is all worked up right now—he’s vulnerable and totally susceptible to any kind of romantic advances. If you play your cards right, you could pull off something legendary. Tell you what, I’ll lure him into a corner, and then you can make your move.

Pro tip: he’s a sucker for anything Wild West. I bet if you baked him some pumpkin pie and threw on one of those white "Bubbles" style hats girls used to wear back in the Golden Age of the Wild West, you'd be set. That hat is a total game-changer, especially if you're rocking that "dead weasel" hairstyle again. Also, just try hitting him with a casual "hey there, sheriff."

I’m thinking you bake him some pumpkin pie and throw on one of those white "Bubbles the Duck" hats—you know, the kind girls used to wear back in the Golden Age of the Wild West. It’s a pretty essential accessory if you’re planning on rocking that "dead weasel" hairstyle again. Also, maybe try hitting him with a little "hey there, sheriff"

Bubbles hat 😂

And I don't even have the dead weasel look anymore—I mean, for heaven's sake, coastalpanther11, you've seen my bald head. If anything, I’d probably just walk up to him with a gun and a threat. At this point, I look more like a villain from a B-movie than some damsel in distress (though, granted, I suppose I could at least manage to dress like a girl from the Wild West)

Not necessarily... everything you actually need is already tucked away inside the All American Survival pack. Or perhaps a framed photo of Gram Parsons might do the trick. 🙂
As for transportation, it’s either going to be the Tennessee Stud or a '64 Oldsmobile Cutlass. :iain'tdeadyet:

Next Friday!

Well, that pure spite that kept me inside has somehow morphed into a desperate craving to finally get out there. See you then...

A horse, a Harley, or a pickup truck. Sedans are out of the question. Get it?

Hey Dino, any chance you have my DVD from that last Ramones concert? I think I handed it off to someone and now I can't remember who. Dammit. I really need it.

Yeah! That's the spirit! Let's meet up at boldscout72's place for some warm-up tunes, featuring some terribly out-of-tune howling of "I'm a rhinestone cowboooooy!"

Smith is on the cover of Uncut 😍 Uncut included CD is "John Peel's Festive 15" featuring fall - Eat Y'self Fitter, Wed Pres - Everyone Thinks He Looks Daft, and Pavement - Gold Soundz. No McLusky. Darn.

@David Sullivan4/">@@David Sullivan4: Nope. Didn't even know you had that. As for me, all I've got left is Sepultura. It's war for terrrrrriiiittoooryyyyy!!!!! 🙂

😳

retro vibe, car accessories:
I'm adding
- an ALPINE sticker across the entire rear window.
- a Pink Floyd logo near the gas tank.

A horse, a Harley, or a pickup truck—anything else is just not happening. Sedans are out of the question. You follow me?

Now look here, son... I am certainly not getting behind the wheel of anything that doesn't have at least four wheels—and if old Gram Parsons could get by in a sedan, then there is absolutely no reason why I shouldn't... and yes, a Tennessee Stud is indeed a horse. 😵

oktopod said:And yeah, a Wild West is a horse. 😵

Let's set the record straight...
...
the Wild West was long and lean
the color of the sun and his eyes were green
he had the nerve and he had the blood
there never was a horse like Wild West
...

I get it—it's like you're speaking Spanish, but then you throw in some Cajun dialect too.

Yeehaw! Hell, yeah!
