stormyviper11 said:And obviously, here’s the kicker—how can you even call it an alternative list without Bulldozer? They fit every single criterion perfectly, probably even more so than bands like Hladno Pivo or Motherfucker...

Look, these are just my personal top lists. I'm not trying to be some critic here.
By the way, I find Bulldozer a bit exhausting. 🙂

Why does everyone start talking about "the youth" the second someone mentions anything alternative?
Because it’s just such a stupid term... 🙂

If I were to add Overflow to the list compiled by Wrongov, then that would be my final word.☕

Stupidly vague, like calling something "democracy," right? 🙂

Well... now that stormyviper11 is jumping on my list of most irritating signatures and actually trying to argue against it point by point. 😬

Bands like ban smoking—not just the first two, but all four (though I’d say "Sabah with Satan" is their weakest link?)—as well as Bulldozer, too. But this list is what it is.

Mind you, if I were putting this together in a different headspace, "Walter" could easily find his way onto it. 🙂

Alex Scott22 said:Is "democracy" actually just a fancy word for being stupid?... 🙂

Democracy? I actually found this one killer line from Bukowski: "The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a democracy, people get to vote first and then follow orders, whereas in a dictatorship, nobody even wastes their breath on voting..." 😁

We want democracy!
Give me a dictatorship any day!
We want freedom!
Bring on the censorship!
Let’s go mainstream!
We need an alternative!
Man, I am seriously craving some Nabisco cookies right now... specifically those wafer ones. Just thinking about them...
Spot the imposter... I slipped one in there because getting five stars for everything else was driving me nuts, and honestly, it's the only thing on this list that actually fits my vibe—so I made sure I got exactly what I wanted!...😬

NP Sound Lab - A total forgotten gem. Man, I really should’ve fought harder to get them on that list...

Mr. Wrong As stated by:

Johnny moped 2. Eater
1. The Adverts

(Or: A list for bringing Alex Scott22 into the fold) 😁 But that’s honestly how I see it.

3. Johnny is a legend.
She wasn't listening.
I wouldn't say I was particularly taken with it.

Well, you certainly did it. You managed to get me hooked on Fall, and now I can't stop listening to them every single day. It’s become a constant part of my routine. Honestly, I think I'll be ready to dive into a full album playback very soon.

I'm not really feeling 1 and 2, but Ivica Motorin is pure gold... Go, little queenie, go! 🙂

Haha.. 🙂

Man, if The Adverts were around today, they’d run the show. They would have absolutely crushed all that hyped-up Jejes, Hajvs, and Strajps stuff. Their sound is just so fresh and timeless...

Here are my top 3 old-school bands that still sound like they recorded everything in the mid-2000s:

1. 1. The Adverts 2. gang of Four 3. radio Birdman
2. 2. gang of Four 3. radio Birdman
3. 3. radio Birdman

Let me jump in here too-
6. OVERFLOW- Extremly Perverted Fantasies Of The Mad Milkman
5. ZABRANJENO PUŠENJE- Das ist Walter
4. Madison Square Garden- Vo-Zdra
3. SEXA- Live in SC
2. SCH- During Wartime
1. 🙂 imageimage🙂 WHA STAKLA- Daj Dođi

I’ve already put together a solid list featuring Pataren, Uzrujan, and Paraf. I might even throw Majka in there somewhere, though maybe not Discipline Ali—just feels like too much work right now.

Oh, and one more thing—screw you guys and your Buldožer... :2up:total hipsters...

Here are my top three old-school bands whose recordings have aged like fine wine... these albums still sound incredibly ahead of their time, almost avant-garde even now:

1. Cream
2. Doors
3. Bauhaus 😬

For instance, stuff from Cream 2. Doors 3. Bauhaus npr. Roxy Music, Bowie-Ziggy, and Sabbath still feel totally fresh and alive to me today.

To Sabbath sound... it feels almost pre-Renaissance to me. 😬 Just stone-cold ancient.

My top 3 biggest letdowns regarding my favorite bands' "originality":

1. NoMeansNo—I remember sitting in the passenger seat of my buddy's Ford, hearing Minutemen 2. Sonic Youth for the first time...
2. Sonic Youth, once I actually heard Neu! (just yesterday 😳).
3. 3. The Clash, after discovering "All The Young Dudes" by Mott The Hoople.

The top 3 old-school bands, yet they sound like they just finished recording in the middle of 2005:

Hold up, I don't get it. What exactly is supposed to be a compliment about that??? 😁

Alex Rogers91 said:Has Jim Morrison ever listened to that dark unknown guy?????

Haha, I actually had this beat-up cassette of The Beatles that Jim Morrison recorded over for me... I played that thing on loop for months. Forgive me, I was only 12 at the time... but look... listening to that junk when you're 12 in 1985 isn't the same as listening to it in, say, 1993, right? 🙂 It was basically just hype back then... haha, what kind of luck were we born into? (The US and Canada)🙂
