Susan Clark10 said:I am actually curious—which grade or class were you in?

To be honest, I have no memory of computer science classes—where was the lab even located? 🤔

Finished middle school back in '92—eighth grade, I believe. 🙂

Hmm, I don't quite remember 🤔

But you're still a year younger than me. I graduated back in '91. Same deal 🙂
Oh, I do remember how all our guys were totally into those seventh graders, though I can't recall which grade they were in... I have vague memories of someone named Marcela and another girl, Nike... 😁

I didn't have Smith, so she isn't on my list.
Man, Magrico was such a nightmare—way worse than Long and Michael combined 🙂
Michael was a total pushover to me. I’m not some playground for you guys to vent on!!!

I had Delic for shop class too... he had this weird way of walking around the room, five steps right, five left, five forward, five back, just ALWAYS doing that 😵
and during tests, he'd actually give us three minutes to peek at our books if we didn't know something 🤣
he was pretty clueless, honestly—I remember we had to build birdhouses for shop, and since I'm clearly a master craftsman (not really 😬), mine ended up with a hole in the roof... so I just painted it black and he never even noticed 😵 😵 😵

We also had Rod for chemistry one year, and the wildest part was when she bragged about how the students called her "Sokolov" or whatever, all proud of herself—meanwhile, during tests, you could practically keep your book open on the desk and she wouldn't notice 🤣

btw, I ended up enrolling in the 91e program :beba:

well, I do remember how all our guys used to go crazy over those seventh graders... though I can't recall which grade they were in... I vaguely remember some girls named Marcela and Nika...😁

We actually had opposite schedules back then. 😢 I definitely remember the ones who were two years older.

As for Marcela and Nika—they were in that class... honestly, I have to admit, your taste in guys was pretty questionable...😬

brightridge19 The user said:Marcela and Nika? Honestly, they were in a class of their own... if "class" means having incredibly questionable taste. I have to admit, your friends definitely had some pretty obscure preferences!😬

That’s exactly what we told them, but they just wouldn't listen. 😬

Oh, I just remembered something else 👋

Back in fifth grade, we had this guy Ray from the tech department... he tried to pull off this whole deal to get us all some tools from some guys in the Midwest (not suspicious at all, really 😁) but the whole thing fell through—so we ended up building Lego sets just to pass our midterms 😂

All I remember is how terrified I was of him... ever since that incident with the lips. I barely came up to his knee back then. He didn't treat me particularly kindly—he actually used to grab me by my hair. A total predator. :brrrr:
And I still remember his son, who was in my age group—just as slow as his father. 🤣

Well, Ray was such a softie... Honestly, whenever there was a troublemaker in any class, they wouldn't even bother sending them to the principal first; they’d head straight to Ray's office instead. 😁

And does anyone remember the school counselor? Total legend. He was in the hospital for quite a while, and as soon as he got out, he headed right over to visit the school, only to get hit by a car at that crosswalk 😢

I didn't really have a counselor back then—just some woman we had, though I can't quite recall who she was.

I wouldn't go calling Ray a mouse, but since you used to play basketball, I totally get why you’d say that. 🙂

It also just occurred to me that the hall monitors actually had to pass physics if he left any chalk on the board during his class...
hahaha, oh man, one time he subbed for us for an hour, but he was teaching another class at the same time, so he kept popping into our room to yell at us—and apparently, we weren't even allowed to chew gum during his period. 😂

Haha, man, it’s funny how things work out. It felt like Michael absolutely couldn't stand me, yet Ray was my biggest fan... life is weird like that. Honestly, back in my day, school definitely came before basketball. 😁

Siroglavić🤣 was so incredibly old—honestly, it would have been nothing short of a miracle if he had even made it to your era.😬

Honestly, Frank is an old childhood friend of my dad's from back in the day in Chicago—he isn't THAT old. Relax.

Look, he told us he actually watched Pangea break apart back in the day, so... I guess he might have already lived through a few eras by the time he was hanging out with your dad 🙂

Back when I was in middle school, we had this guy teaching tech—some alcoholic dude, Milorad or whatever—who was constantly hitting on the girls. If you wanted a 5, all you had to do was show up in a mini skirt and you were basically guaranteed an A for the term. Then he left, and this new guy took over—fresh out of college, total smart-ass, did zero actual work. Every single girl in the school was obsessed with him, but when they asked if he’d go to prom with them, he actually said no because he was too afraid he’d get drunk and lose control with one of the girls in class. Like, hello? We were in 7th grade! Total pedophile alert!!!

We had our own version of that eccentric Majić from PE class—the kind who always needed an extra hand just to clear the vaulting horse and stuff. 🤮

Haha, Majić... I completely lost my train of thought because of him. I really loved him. 😁

@ brightridge19: Oh, I just remembered... were you in the same class as Sunny and Ivona? Those two were total rebels—everyone in school knew them! I used to get along pretty well with Ivona back then, but honestly, I have no idea what they're up to these days.

Not yet. He used to write me excuse notes for other classes whenever I had to miss school for basketball. 😁

Majić—good grief. That sounds awful. Back in seventh grade, we actually had PE on Saturday mornings at 7:15 AM. I still have a bit of trauma from that.

No. Those girls were different. I wasn't one of them—we were always pretty well-behaved. Though, I did run with that crowd for a little while, yes. 🙂
