I'm heading out later today, so I might swing by and take a look. It's right near my place.

Go ahead, check it out.
Wait, wasn't City Kebab supposed to move even further north into the industrial district?

Daniel Bailey7 said:On topic... what are your top 3 tracks with that novelty vibe? I'm thinking of stuff like Jawbox. 😁 )

1. dreamless 😍 😍 😍
2. static 😍 😍
3. tongues 😍

Can we please just get on the same page for once and agree on a single list?
Jawbox is at their absolute best when they’re being total wusses.
A total masterpiece of a non-album single: tongues/ones and zeros.

Where on earth did that miserable J. Robbins disappear to?
Goddammit.

They should have relocated to the garment district between the 1st and the 15th. I didn't go check on things since I've been sticking to these new dietary habits... though they probably could have🙂

Oh, absolutely. One massive burger loaded with onions and peppers could easily lead to 🙏digestive issues: I'm taking Robin Williams6 out for some falafel instead! :killthevegetarians:

Carol Jackson45 said:Since I’m already starting a thread about Pearls Before Swine, here are my top 10 characters (I feel like I’ve listed them somewhere before, but they’re just too good to leave out):

Top Pearls:

3. The one where Pig orders a ham sandwich.
2. The one where Pig climbs a tree and refuses to come down.
1. The one where Pig wears sunglasses because Rat told him that cool guys wear shades (Look honey, a little blind pig. Here's a dime, little pig...) 😁

One thing I don't get: how did people actually kill time at work before the Internet existed?

Top sinfest character:

1. God. God is God.

And where's "Spit-Bite," you disaster? 🙂

No offense, but the local kebab shop here is garbage. In Indianapolis, I could get something twice as big and twice as good for $5.00. (And before anyone asks, this isn't because New York City is a metropolis—Indianapolis isn't any cheaper. It’s strictly because City Kebab is trash.)

heavy edit (read the reply, dumbass): Bingo! I had the misfortune of letting David Sullivan4 lead the way to Subway in LA once. Comparing KFC to that Subway experience is like comparing Nirvana to a garage band playing in a basement. Absolute garbage...

I didn't grab a burger there, but man, it's incredible. 🙂 It's a flavor explosion if you go heavy on the extra chili. Just be ready for the Ring of Fire when you're hitting the restroom the next morning.

@Sean Lee7/">@@Sean Lee7: Don't tell me you gave up on the joys of an M&Z bistro too. Come on, Drazen, don't be like that—I bet they could whip up some diet version of a stuffed sandwich just for you. Man, now I'm starving...

I have. At least for a month and a half. I'll have to treat myself for my birthday...🙂

aha - I agree. It felt suspicious the moment that Russian guy asked if I wanted half of his sandwich in exchange for half of mine after just two bites? And I, being naive, actually said yes.
man, I am hungry

I can't speak on Subway since I don't touch that vegetarian nonsense. And honestly, anyone claiming KFC is bad deserves to die from food poisoning. You aren't even people; you're just cowards.

Subway is absolute garbage. I mean, the bread is terrible... hello?... plus it falls apart... plus it tastes bad... plus the toppings are mediocre...

Man, if you try actual Subway (in Chicago, where they make the bread fresh right in front of you...) then you'll see...

Regarding the kebab at that sick place, it's basically concrete and should be shut down if you're starving, but realistically it's nothing special... I'm lucky I didn't become an addict... especially once I figured out their shift schedule and started avoiding that place and those double portions of chili.

np: Pearl Jam combat rock, Pearl Jam London Calling, now playing the first one. Punk, mova mota... waiting for 4:45 PM.

Is there anything quite as satisfying as eating yourself into a stupor, only to spend the entire night feeling like you have a literal brick sitting in your stomach? I had some KFC near the station in Chicago recently—it was solid. I’ve had great food in Turkey, too, but honestly, no one can touch this local lunatic when it comes to greasy goodness. I’ve even toyed with the idea of opening a franchise in New York City. 😬

You’re just too punk... you wouldn't get it😬

The top three Pearls strips I can recall...

3. A glass explains its "road rage" to a pig😈
2. The pig explains to the glass why it wears gloves🙂
1. Anxieteer tells the glass that "everything will be fine"😍

David Sullivan4 said:Subway is absolute garbage. I mean, putting Subway inside a pita wrap... seriously? It just falls apart, tastes terrible, and the sides they serve are total junk.

Man, if you actually tried some real deal food—like hitting up a legit spot in Chicago where they use actual quality dough and bake everything right in front of you—you’d finally understand what real food tastes like.

.

I ate there... honestly
it wasn't any better than I remember.
was that from that guy from Iran?

If we're talking about that spot near the train station, I have to mention three crazy things about him.
1. Great flatbread
2. That insane spicy sauce—looks just like honey
3. He actually gave us a pass $5.00 when we were heading back from Omar's. When we mentioned we were just visiting New York City, his only response was, "Well, you've got some good KFC over there," and told us not to worry about paying for the last meal.

How many times can I even type "kebab" in one post?

It’s not even that the KFC in New York City tastes bad; it’s just that the portion sizes are an absolute joke, especially when you consider the ridiculous price they're charging for them.

My top three essentials:

1. getting home😍
2. brewing a cup of coffee😍
3. and putting on Digger and The Pussycats😍
