Though, I wouldn't exactly call them indie—they were actually signed to Warner...

p.s. This guy couldn't even ride a bicycle if his life depended on it.🙂

There are about five and a half things people on this board are claiming they don't know how to do tonight, and honestly, I’m right there with them because I’m clueless too:

1. riding a bike.
2. skiing.
3. ice skating.
4. blowing bubblegum bubbles.
5. snapping your fingers.
5 1/2. whistling. Sort of. I actually had no idea how for the longest time, until one day I just got fed up with, uh, listening to 😳 The Final Countdown and finally caught the rhythm... now I have these mediocre attempts at whistling, but let's just say I'll keep them to myself.

The absolute best topic from the A section is definitely how much it sucks when people whistle 😍

Riding a bike. Just... riding. Honestly, sometimes I feel like people overcomplicate it—you know? Like they need the most expensive carbon fiber frame from Trek or some high-tech gear just to get around town—but I guess at its core, it’s just you and the road. Whether you're cruising through a park in Chicago or just pedaling to the corner store, there's something about it. It's simple, though I suppose it can be a total pain if you end up stuck in traffic with some distracted driver in an SUV. But yeah, riding a bike. That's it.
2. ski resort.
Third gear. Or maybe it should be fourth? I don't know—honestly, I’m just thinking out loud here—but third gear feels like the sweet spot for this kind of thing. Maybe that's just me being overly cautious, though. I guess we'll see.
Just sitting here... blowing bubblegum bubbles. Seriously. Is there anything more mindless? I don't know, maybe. It’s just one of those things—you start doing it, and suddenly twenty minutes have vanished and you're just staring at the ceiling, wondering where the time went. Probably shouldn't be doing it while I'm supposed to be working, I guess, but hey, sometimes you just need that mental reset—even if it's a totally unproductive one.
5. fingers crossed.
5 1/2. Whistling... sort of. I honestly didn't even realize it for the longest time—until one day, I don't know, everything just kind of hit the fan with, uhm, "The Final Countdown." 😳 I think I’ve finally sort of caught the hang of it—well, kind of—so now I have these semi-successful attempts at whistling, though honestly, I probably shouldn't go around demonstrating them to anyone just yet.

And here I was, thinking I was the last person left who couldn't quite figure out how to ride a bike—turns out, things are looking up 😬

I’ve been sitting on this idea for years now—we should start an association for grown adults who have absolutely no clue how to ride a bike. I personally know at least four or five people like that (including Ari Peki, who swears he used to be able to do it but just totally forgot)... and honestly, looking around here, I see plenty of other candidates interested in joining the club.

The whole vibe would basically be hanging out, grabbing drinks, and protesting against bicycles and cyclists in general. Like, if there’s some big race happening over by the Rose Bowl, we could just head to the stadium with a bunch of beers and collectively turn our backs on the cyclists as they pass by. We could pull the same stunt during any stage race or even those local charity rides.

Word on the street is that Jasenka Houra can't ride one either, so I was thinking about inviting her to be our honorary president...

I'll sign off on that. Only difference is, I can ride a bike, but I can't swim.😢

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure if I'd qualify. The last time I hopped on one of those old-school, hippie-style rides—you know, like a pony bike!—was probably fifteen years ago...

Well, I actually did. I was riding some BMX when I was about 15 or 16—so like twenty years ago, goodness me—but since I learned so late, I was never really a huge fan of it. Then, about ten years later, I tried sitting on an actual adult bike for the first time and just couldn't handle it. That totally killed my motivation. Plus, I’ve never been a big fan of cyclists on the road (that classic scene from unknown), so I doubt I'll ever give it another shot.

I remember this wacky old movie from the late eighties set at some spa (where Nikola Simić and Mica Tatić play these flamboyant characters) where Bat Živojinović chases some guys down in one scene. I don't know all the details, but I just remember him getting so frustrated that he tosses the bike aside with a quick "unknown." Honestly, that sums up my whole philosophy on those things in just two words. And

😁

Honestly, that unknown book is actually pretty solid. I even ended up getting busted while carrying a copy because I was part of that whole stunt involving stealing a life-sized cardboard cutout of JFK from right outside the Sheraton. It's a long story...
Robin Booth, I'm with you on the ironing thing—definitely one of the most useless tasks the human brain has ever cooked up.

Cycling is everything. You lot are idiots. 🙂

The absolute worst chore, and always will be, is washing dishes—closely followed by detailing the car. Disgusting.
