Back in the day, our crew had this made-up word for an ashtray—"fumadrolja"

Here are the absolute worst amps I’ve ever wasted my Precision bass on (not counting direct input into the PA):

1. That tiny Trace Elliot model that's basically designed to function as a ballot box. You get exactly what you expect from the design—nothing useful at all. I honestly have no clue why people used to go crazy for this junk back in the day.
2. Some old FBT unit we had waiting for us in Columbus. It looks like it's been through a war zone, and once you crank the volume past a certain point, it just sounds like pure Merzbow noise.
3. Any old cheap practice amp. The sound is terrible, but hey, at least it actually works.
