Hmm... beer, wine, or whiskey... none of that is illegal, and the original poster was specifically asking about illicit substances.
Besides, you don't really need any kind of drugs to enjoy great music—at least, not in my experience.
Music itself is its own kind of high.😁

Personally, I don't think music needs to be tied to drugs—regardless of the genre or style. Back in the day, I used to get so annoyed with those trendy "party animal" types who looked down on the local club scene here in New York.

At the same time, I've noticed in several different instances that music created under the influence of various substances just hits differently when you decide to join them in that headspace.

I mean, it would be stating the obvious if I said that reggae and dub are my absolute go-tos when I'm high. And honestly, one of the most profound experiences of my life was listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon while tripping. 😎

Just spending hours rotting away by the coast in 95-degree heat with DJ Krusha

And Tool used to hit just as hard when I was in a similar headspace
