In your opinion, what is the BEST online sportsbook???

bet-at-home 45%
BetMGM 25%
DraftKings 17%
Bet365 13%
Total votes: 2863

You didn't say it was the best, sure, but you ended up making a poll that basically claims these are the "best" online sportsbooks🤷

Eric Fox7 said:I’d go with an online sportsbook rated A or A+. You want one that covers every sport imaginable, offers plenty of props, and has solid odds on halftime/fulltime markets (BetMGM and some other site have odds around 20-23 for 2/1 and 1/2 results)

The odds for those 2/1 and 1/2 bets really ought to be averaging somewhere between 26 and 30, if you ask me.😉

I don't get why you're so hung up on those two specific books. I mean, there are at least a hundred better options out there, right?🤷

Well, I already started using them, and they've already got my ID and everything on file. It saves me the hassle of resubmitting documents whenever I need to cash out (though lately, nothing 😁 has come through). Plus, I don't really mess with parlays or anything like that...

Fair enough, but you can't exactly claim they're the top-tier sportsbooks if you aren't even playing the big stuff to back up those claims 😉

Look, when someone asks me for a recommendation, I’m going to give them my honest take... and for me, these are the absolute best. I guess we're just kind of over being stuck with 😁

That's one way to look at it—certainly different from the claim that they're actually the top online sportsbooks 😉

True enough, but we did eventually reach an agreement 😁

Saying "Alvin McCarty knows" implies he actually does... I guess...🤣

Sure, you could think that, 😁

If you're actually out there hunting for advice on which online sportsbook to use, honestly, just listen to Walter Edwards and Leonard Nimoy—those two are basically the ultimate experts in that field 😉

Honestly, you're much better off sticking to the local brick-and-mortar sportsbooks. Starting next year, they're slapping $10,000 penalties on anyone caught gambling online! $16667 😢

Wait, where did you read that? I saw an article recently saying it was perfectly legal...

So I was reading through this... but there's way too much nonsense in here🙂
how are they running ads for this at every turn, promising bonuses for stuff that isn't even legal in the States😉

until they actually fix things, none of it matters... they just care about lining their own pockets☕

Actually, we’ve already touched on this here on the forum! Basically, under these new laws, they've finally introduced actual fines for individuals. It used to be technically prohibited before too, but there wasn't a specific legal penalty attached to it like there is now with these updated regulations.

FOREIGN GAMBLING

Section 68.
(1) It is prohibited:
..............

2. participating in foreign gambling if the wagers are being placed within the United States.

3. collecting wagers within the United States for participation in or payment toward gambling games organized abroad.

Section 73.
.........

(3) A fine ranging from $10,000.00 up to $16667 shall be imposed on any individual acting in violation of the prohibition regarding foreign gambling (Section 68.).

I mean, how does it make sense that they're hitting you with ads at every single turn, promising some "24-hour bonus" for stuff that isn't even legal? 😉

Until they actually fix those issues, none of it matters... it seems like their only real priority is lining their own pockets. ☕

And let's be real—those fines aren't even that bad if you're looking to pad your bank account. 😢 They'll probably end up with a total monopoly like what happens over in Canada.

If that's the case, why are the state lottery and major bookies even planning to launch online betting?🤷

Sean Lee6 said:So why would companies like HHI or Fortune even bother planning to launch online betting platforms if that were the case?🤷

Well, look, it’ll become totally legal to bet through our domestic online bookmakers—assuming this actually happens, since it’s been "in the works" for years now! The whole reason is that it makes it so much easier to track deposits and withdrawals, which means the government can finally get their hands on those winnings via taxes. If I recall correctly, the price tag for an online gambling license is about $450,000 per year. It just makes sense from a regulatory standpoint!

I'm not entirely sure if you all caught the news about what went down over in Mexico involving those two website owners running affiliate gambling sites... http://www.devprotalk.com/showthread.php?t=8476&pp=10

Man, look... that law was already on the books here in the States, it's just that starting this year, the fine jumped from about $30k down to $5k 🤷
I don't recall ever hearing about anyone actually getting hit with a penalty

I don't recall hearing anything about anyone getting penalized! Honestly, my memory might be a bit hazy on that one... I could have missed it!

You’ve got it all wrong! Back under the old regulations, online betting was technically off-limits, sure, but they weren't actually slapping individuals with fines for it. That whole dynamic shifted once the new laws kicked in on January 1st, 2010. And get this—starting this year, that famous Social Security number system is fully operational, which means the IRS is going to have a much easier time tracking transactions through bank accounts. I mean, honestly... I find it hard to believe they'll come after you if they see someone deposited a few hundred bucks into an account, but if we're talking about several thousand... well, then things might get interesting!

Then I don't give a damn😛
I don't deal with amounts like that anyway...😁

I’m hearing all of this for the first time—honestly, I had no clue online betting was even legal here, let alone that you could face penalties like this. It makes you wonder about the logic behind these laws and the people tasked with enforcing them in the first place.

It’s all a joke until they actually define things properly 👍
—on one hand, you have ads everywhere and free bonuses, but on the other, you've got people getting fined 😁
