Go ahead, play just like they do 🙂 I’d love to see them try to penalize me for that too; let them have their little jokes 😁

I couldn't care less about that 😉
They definitely won't get me; they'll be too busy chasing those people dropping hundreds of bucks every single day

I doubt I'll be getting any action—not that I’m holding my breath. Honestly, I'll probably be passed over for those high rollers who are dropping a few thousand bucks every single day.

I don't even have an account open with any of those online sportsbooks yet—honestly, I’m just planning to wait until I’ve scraped together enough cash, move it over to my debit card, and then maybe dabble a bit online. But you guys are right, who really cares? Let them pass whatever laws they want. There is way more illegal activity happening in this country that nobody even bothers to prosecute.

Has anyone tried depositing with Maestro on Unibet?

Terry Rogers2 said:People have actually been talking about this on the boards for a while now. Basically, under these new laws, they’ve finally slapped actual fines on individuals. It was technically illegal before, sure, but there wasn't a specific statutory penalty like what we're seeing with this new legislation.

FOREIGN GAMBLING

Section 68.
(1) It is prohibited:
..............

2. participating in foreign gambling if the stakes are being placed within the United States

3. collecting stakes within the United States for the purpose of participating in or paying for gambling activities organized abroad

Section 73.
.........

(3) An individual shall be fined between $10,000.00 and $16667 for violating the prohibition regarding foreign gambling (Section 68.).

To me, this looks like another massive loophole in the law—they’d have to prove you actually placed the money from US soil. Which means vouchers are totally fine, right? Just like sportsbook bonuses?! I mean, theoretically, you just head over to Canada, Barbados, or Turkmenistan, open a non-resident account, deposit your cash, and bet your heart out because the account is overseas and you aren't technically placing the bets from US territory (unless that falls under "collecting" stakes... man, I don't know. Some lawyer really needs to clear this up because it seems pretty half-baked to me...)

1)Look, services like PayPal, Neteller, or Moneybookers aren't actually bookies and they don't run any gambling games themselves, so you're just using them to move your cash around
2)Once that money hits your account there, you aren't sending funds from American soil to a sportsbook anymore—you're basically pulling it from an overseas account in England.
3>>3)If they went after one single person, they’d be setting a massive precedent that would basically put 100,000 American citizens on trial too.
4)None of us are sitting on $500,000 just waiting to get hauled into court over something that isn't even illegal or clearly defined by the law.

Not a chance!
If you ask me, I’d pull the plug on that immediately. Honestly, what’s more entertaining than sitting in a local pub, nursing a drink, and watching all the gamblers glued to the screen while the national team plays? 🙏

So, was this law just passed? Does that mean online betting gets banned once we join the EU?😲

And why on earth would sports betting be classified as gambling? I’ve always viewed it as an investment. When you place a bet, you’re essentially investing in a quality performance—the hard work, the conditioning, and the tactical setup of a team.

It’s not like FC Barcelona or Chelsea FC win because they're lucky; they pour massive amounts of effort and capital into ensuring they win.

By this logic, will stock market trading or putting money in a savings account be labeled as gambling too? After all, you can't be 100% certain about a stock's movement or whether a bank might fail.

Could this actually be a loophole in the legislation? 🙂

Thinking about dropping $100 on Bet365 and finally getting into some betting.

Could use a few pointers if anyone’s willing:
-I've got a Chase debit card with some cash sitting in there.
-The plan is to convert my funds and just load them straight onto Bet365.
-That $100 bonus is what really caught my eye; I've heard this bookie is legit.

Is opening an account going to be a headache? Will my debit card actually work, or is it going to bounce?

Please help—this whole thing is completely foreign territory to me.

I could use some advice if possible:
- I have a Chase Maestro debit card... it has some USD and a bit of change on it.
- My plan is to convert some cash and deposit it into that Bet365 account.
- The $100 bonus is what attracts me most to this sportsbook, and I've heard they're decent.

Is there any issue opening an account? Does my Maestro card work, or is that card okay?

Please help, this is all totally foreign territory to me.

I suspect Maestro won't work, but I'm not certain...

I just topped up my account on Bet365 using a Visa debit card... you gotta scan some ID and send it over to get your account verified first. But honestly, all things considered, it's a pretty solid sportsbook. Decent odds and the support staff is actually helpful—they've got live chat running 24/7, so you can just ping them whenever you have a question...

Thanks for the input, guys.

I have a Visa Electron card, but it’s only got US dollars on it.
Can I try using that?
And how does the process actually work? Am I just supposed to wire money to one of their accounts?

Also, what are the actual risks of handing my info over to someone else?
A buddy of mine is asking me to open an account in my name... he says he'll cover the costs and just give me the $67. (He's doing all this just to chase a $100 bonus)

A friend is begging me to open an account in my name... he’ll pay for everything and then just give me the $67 (he's doing all this just for a $100 bonus)

Just head to the sportsbook site, hit the deposit option, enter your card number, CVV2, and whatever amount you want, and you're done.👍

Does anyone have a card they could use to deposit some funds into my Betway account if that's an option?

Honestly, Bet365 is such a pain in the ass right now—all this nonsense with signing contracts... every single time I try to get a payout, it’s printing, signing, scanning, emailing... it's just endless busywork! They're making it so tedious!

I've got a solid list of companies listed right here, some with bonuses and some without, though I'd probably skip Bet365 and Ladbrokes entirely because of all those headaches they cause.

Yeah, I heard getting your cash can be a hassle, but at least they actually pay up in the end.
Have you had any actual experience with them?

b365 isn't even that sketchy. All they want is a scan of your ID or some other government paperwork and a screenshot of your bonus balance to get things moving within 48 hours ☕

I don't have an account with DraftKings, but I’ve got a $5 bonus sitting there...
So, do I actually need to open an account just to claim it?

You’ll need to open an account first. 😁
Does anyone else happen to have another bonus code they could share?

Like someone else already pointed out, just move your funds over to Moneybookers first, then transfer them from there to whatever sportsbook you're using... and honestly, you can just ignore that regulation entirely.

Regarding Bet365, they’ve implemented a pretty idiotic rule lately. They won't authorize any withdrawals until a Postal Verification Code (PVC) arrives at your physical address, which—let's be real—often gets lost in the mail. So, if you want to use Bet365 (which I do recommend), my advice is to wait until that PVC actually hits your mailbox before you move your cash in and start betting. As the name implies, this code is strictly for identity verification; you'll get a specific code that you have to enter manually. Just a heads-up: do not attempt to link more than one account or email from Moneybookers to Bet365, or they'll flag and limit you instantly. On the bright side, withdrawals from Bet365 back to Moneybookers have been lightning-fast lately, and they've been throwing out small bonuses quite often. Bottom line: they've definitely stepped up their game.
