Just run that "Safe XP" utility and make sure you select the option to disable MSN entirely.

Has anyone actually messed around with that XP Lite little tool? I'm wondering if anyone here has tried it out—specifically, if you go through with stripping out all those extra Windows XP components, does everything stay running smooth and tip-top, or do you start running into weird glitches and bugs down the road?

I haven't personally tested it, but I have two buddies using it who say it's solid.
So... I can't give you a personal guarantee, but at least you have some feedback to go on.

I couldn't get it to budge; the damn thing just won't cooperate.

Plus, it decides to jump online whenever it feels like it. If Charlie stays connected to the web, I’m going to have to spend my whole day explaining to people why I'm ignoring them. And honestly? I'm not about to do that.😠

And it keeps popping up whenever it feels like it, so if Charlie stays online, I’m stuck having to explain to everyone why I’m ghosting them. And I am NOT doing that.😠

😕

We're talking about MSN here...

If you want to wipe Messenger off your system for good, just paste this into Start/run: runDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Or you can just go through the Control Panel, hit Admin Tools, then Services, and just set that thing to disabled.

Yep. I just did a quick copy-paste.

And then it tells me it failed because of an access denied error.

Though, I know it’s just the Messenger app.🙂

And then she claims it failed because of an "access denied" error. Like, seriously?

And I already know we're just talking about MSN Messenger here. 🙂

Which Win😕

Did you even try messing with the services settings?

XP

But look, I'm not running the show here right now. Hey, Lestane, does that change anything?🤔

What I really need is some C-R-T-A-T😳 😬

I'll admit it, I was being a total dummy.🙄

I'm pretty sure it does.😁

It’s like I finally managed to peel this thing off, only to realize I can't actually get rid of it.🙂

Just a total mess.

He just won't let up. Even when I set my status to offline, he finds a way to tag me the second he feels like venting. I can't even browse the web without the whole world knowing what's going on.
