Dragan, Sophia Loren, and Peaches are vibing

Over at vip.music, there’s this poetic breakdown by Dragan regarding Fiu Brij, which—true to form—is absolutely packed with his signature flourishes. Honestly, out of the whole thing, one specific bit about Sophia Loren really caught my eye. (Well, okay, I'm mostly joking, but it stuck because it was the first thing I read and I just couldn't help myself!)

"The crowd responded warmly to the nonchalant and graceful Sophia Loren..."

Given all the glowing praise he's given them in the past, he actually seemed quite restrained this time around. So, I'm curious to hear from anyone who was actually in the room: what exactly were those two up to in front of a crowd of seven hundred people? Did the audience actually vibe with them? And more importantly, were they truly as nonchalant and graceful as he claims?
The girls will be releasing their album under a new sub-label from Warner Music Group called Dop Records. Even on Dop's own website—which makes me wonder if they have some kind of business partnership with the duo—they were singing their praises...

Here’s how I’d phrase the next sentence:

"He is easily one of the most intriguing and captivating frontmen out there, leading one of our finest bands—a group that could honestly pivot toward the mainstream in just an album or two."

Sophia Loren was absolute fire during those early shows (back when they were just opening for Guns N' Roses and Mambo Kurt). Now? They’ve gone totally mainstream and let the fame get to their heads. Props to them though—they’re still killer. Honestly, it’s not even on them... nobody’s really to blame. It's just a one-night stand.

Sophia Loren didn't perform for a crowd of 7,000; the arena was still mostly empty at that point.

To me feels like they’re better suited for those tiny, dimly lit dive bars where even a place like the Hudson would feel way too massive. If you put them in a huge venue, it just turns into one of those cheesy karaoke night vibes where nobody is actually taking the music seriously anymore.
I’ve caught a few of their sets like that and honestly, I walked away feeling pretty good about it 😁 (well, except for that time they played at the Spider, which was just way too big for their whole aesthetic).

I get the feeling these girls are great for a quick laugh, but honestly? They’re totally lacking in substance. You can hang out with them for five minutes and think they're a blast, but once you settle in, the novelty wears off fast. Eventually, all that electronic trash starts getting on your nerves, doesn't it?

I suppose... it’s all quite amusing when you have the visuals paired with the audio, though as someone once said, the novelty tends to wear off after a while...
And then you eventually realize that the audio alone, stripped of the imagery, could probably be played on loop in some high-security prison or a county jail without any trouble at all. I mean, if you were to play the entire set three times in a row, just imagine... 😬

What kind of "success" are we even talking about here that everyone is supposedly so jealous of? Is showing up on some local ABC affiliate or a random cable network on DirecTV considered a massive achievement now?
Especially when you dress like a complete moron and pretend you're some high-end hostess from a dream sequence...
Is "success" just smiling at a few thousand people during a commercial break on a local news segment?
Or is it having a CD release announced? Because let's be real, Biffel put out three whole albums and I don't see him bragging about his "success," nor does anyone else seem to care...

The projector setup on stage was a cool touch, but everything else was just awful.

I can't stand them, honestly. I don't get how they fit into the whole vibe... My only theory is that it’s all a cash grab—they probably did it at the arena just because the crowds kept drenching them in beer, and they wanted to capitalize on it.

But if people aren't really into these massive festivals where 5,000 people are packed together—especially if they actually showed up expecting to hear some hype about how "rock is back in America"—then that's just the reality.

I have an affinity for mindless electropop, though I haven't formed a definitive opinion on these particular individuals yet.
