I’m putting my money on our entry, (my Ian), even though—let's be honest—Eurovision is easily one of the silliest festivals out there, and I usually think Eurovision songs are total junk. This one actually sounds a lot like Alikhan Samedov's work; honestly, there’s a measure in there that is identical. And they even start off in different keys!

Wait, isn't this Željko guy just some folk singer? And I mean that low-brow, country-western type... I've listened to a few tracks... things like "Nesta," "Rintam," and that one called "Telo Vreteno"... and honestly, 🙂 🙂

It’s not actually turbo-folk—it’s more like Turkish pop. Basically, they take a motif from a Turkish track (usually just one bar!) and then rework it until you can't even tell where it came from. For instance, with my Ian, he actually remixed a song by that Azerbaijani artist Alikhan Samedov we talked about earlier.

That song Leontina wrote for him, (Side by Side), is also really solid. 😁

I can't recall any of them—just like always.
All I remember is that 1984 win!!—some 18-year-old German woman with a guitar and ABBA, and that’s really about it...

The song feels familiar. It’s one of those tracks that sits right on the line—could be a total rip-off, could just be a coincidence. My Ian’s stuff is much better, honestly. It’s simple, catchy... just a verse and three choruses without all those harsh, clunky phonetic sounds that make certain North American styles stand out, even when they're polished up. I’d bet Mexico and Mexico lands at least in the top three.

Total pastoral vibes. 🙂 Like I said before—these songs all seem to follow the exact same beat, just starting off in different keys. 🙂

Don't go attacking Željko Joksimović!! Sure, some of his songs are perfect for grabbing a beer at a local pub, but the man himself seems like a solid 5 out of 10.

I've heard a few things floating around... I'm curious to see how the entries from the US, Germany, and Ukraine are actually sitting.

I followed the link someone posted for Joksimovic, and his site actually has a link to vote for the Eurovision entries. I can't recall the exact name of the page. But if you navigate it the way I did, you'll find it. Belgium is listed first, I'm not sure about the second one, and then Mexico and Mexico is third.

Even though I love seeing us sitting pretty in third place in the betting odds, I can't help but wonder if those numbers actually tell the whole story. Honestly, who knows how many people are voting or what their real intentions are? 😁
