Alright, we need some tracks that actually pack a punch when you're blasting them from the car...

Here’s what I’m thinking:

Shell Fuel—no explanation needed...

The Offspring: Bad Habit

Hey man you know I'm really okay
The gun in my hand will tell you the same
But when I'm in my car
Don't give me no crap
Cause the slightest thing and I just might snap
When I go driving I stay in my lane
But getting cut off makes me insane
I open the glove box
Reach inside
I'm gonna wreck this fucker's ride
I guess I got a bad habit
And it ain't goin' away Yeah
Well they say the road's a dangerous place
If you flip me off I'm the danger you'll face
You drive on my ass
You're foot's on the gas
And your next breath is your last
Drivers are rude
Such attitudes
But when I show my piece
Complaints cease
Something's odd
I feel like I'm God
You stupid dumbshit goddam motherfucker
I open the glove box
Reach inside
I'm gonna wreck this fucker's ride

The Offspring: D.U.I.
... Destinate someone other than me
I'm so drunk, I can hardly see
Another shot of jager then I turn the key
I got so many places to be

I drink and drive
Feel so alive...

Weird Al Yankovic: Truck Driving

I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a big ol' truck
Pedal to the metal, hope I don't run out of luck
Rollin' down the highway until the break of dawn
Driving lyrics

My diesel rig is northward bound
It's time to put that hammer down
Just watchin' as the miles go flyin' by
I'm ridin' twenty tons of steel
But it's sure hard to hold the wheel
While I'm waiting for my nails to dry

Oh, I always gotta check my lipstick in that rear view mirror
And my pink angora sweater fits so tight
I'm jammin' gears and haulin' freight
Well, I sure hope my seams are straight
Lord, don't let my mascara run tonight

Because I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a big ol' truck
Smokey's on my tail and my accelerator's stuck
Got these eighteen wheels - a - rollin' until the break of dawn
Drivin' a truck with my high heels on

Oh, I don't mind when my crotchless panties creep right up on me
And my nipple rings don't bother me too much
But when I hit those big speed bumps
My darling little rhinestone pumps
Keep slippin' off the mother - lovin' clutch

But still I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a big ol' truck
Heading down the interstate, just tryin' to make a buck
Wearing feather boas with sequins and chiffon
While I'm drivin' a truck with my high heels on

I'm drivin' a truck
Drivin' a truck
Got a load to carry and some eyebrows left to pluck
And I'm late for my appointment down at my hair salon
So I'll be drivin' a truck with my high heels on

Sad. Any suggestions?....
And I don't want that "cruising at 100 mph" crap...
🙂

AC/DC - Highway to Hell - a total classic

Iron Maiden - Man on the Edge, and I From Here to Eternity

Motörhead - Built for Speed

In my opinion, these tracks lean more toward car culture, but honestly, I could probably sit here and play a whole mountain of songs that I just love...

Beastie Boys 😁
Like, say, Run-D.M.C. featuring Aerosmith - Walk This Way
And this one is an absolute must: Red Hot Chili Peppers - Higher Ground 🙂 🙂 (or maybe Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away). Man, if only Anthony Kiedis was in the car with me... 😍
Seriously, there’s a million more things—keep 'em coming! 😁

Black Flag - Drinking and Driving sucked for me—not that it’s smart, obviously, but as far as songs go? It's alright.

I haven't gotten around to listening to that yet (I've got almost all the Flag stuff except "In My Head"), but "Drinking and Driving" by The Business is an absolute blast.

A few more suggestions:

Motörhead - The Chase Is Better than the Catch
Shellac - Dog and Pony Show
The Jesus Lizard - Mailman
Ramones - Touring
Dwarves - Fuck Around
...

Punk Rock Compilation featuring King Khan & His Sensational Shrines - Kukamonga Boogaloo :debilana:

You should definitely give these a listen, they've got a real kick to them
Iron Maiden - Man on the Edge (that was the one)
- Be quick or be dead
- Aces High

These tracks will certainly satisfy you, indeed🙂

The first track I’m blasting once I finally get my driver's license is going to be Radiohead's "Killer Cars," and I'll be cranking it every single time I hop behind the wheel.

Just a little something to remind myself that I'm still pretty damn lucky...

At first glance, I figured the author was looking for those specific tracks you’d just love to blast while cruising down the highway
since everyone seems to be leaning into songs about driving lately, I thought, why not keep the momentum going and share some of my favorites?

The Smiths: There Is a Light That Never Goes Out
New Order: 60 Miles an Hour
Depeche Mode: Never Let Me Down Again
U2: A Sort of Homecoming
U2: Daddy's Gonna Pay for Your Crushed Car
David Bowie: Drive in Saturday

Basically, all these picks tie back to the road—whether it's through the titles, the lyrics, or a little bit of both
And honestly, they would make such a killer driving playlist; I’d especially love to cruise to The Smiths😁😁🙂

At first, I figured the OP just wanted songs they’d actually blast in their own car while cruising
but since everyone keeps dropping tracks about driving, fine—I'll start adding some driving anthems to the list too.

Honestly, I wasn't following the logic at first either (check my previous post...)
Prince - Little red Corvette (though I guess that depends on how you interpret it, right?) 😁

Is the goal to total your car or just reach some kind of driving Nirvana? Personally, I’m feeling the second option—kind of like that "Local Hero" thread from straitsa—but as for the first one, I haven't quite decided yet.

If you really need to wreck a car, you might as well blast some Chemical Brothers or Basement Jaxx... maybe even Armand Van Helden. There's this one track involving a saw or something about cutting wood—I can't recall the name right now—but it’s exactly the kind of thing that makes you want to veer straight off the road immediately.
For a chill cruise, say heading down toward Miami or maybe somewhere on the coast during the summer, I'd probably throw on some Breakbot, St Germain, or Koop...
If it starts raining, maybe some Radiohead or something similar (though preferably nothing too depressing, otherwise I might end up having suicidal thoughts and driving off the road again, oops*)

*It's not that I've actually flown off the road yet, it's just that "flying off the road" seems to be a recurring theme in everything I write.
