What are some movies you absolutely loved?

I know this question is a bit cliché, but PLEASE give me some movie recommendations that you actually loved!!!

Whenever I walk into a video rental store, I just feel nauseous looking at all the mindless garbage, cheap Hollywood trash, and those pathetic wannabe comedies...

I'm working up to 12 hours a day lately, so I'm a little out of the loop when it comes to cinema... RIGHT NOW I'M RELYING ON THE TASTE OF THE CLERK AT THE VIDEO STORE, who I finally gave up on after I asked her for "something good" and she responded: have you maybe seen Titanic???

You might want to try tracking down "Mothmanov prophecies"... honestly, it’s been the best film I’ve sat through all year.

Just kidding... I don't exactly live next door to the video store, so I only make the trip on weekends (they have a solid selection, but it’s 6.2 miles from my place). During the week, I'm stuck with the local rental shop. The movies are alright, but the staff there? They basically exist just to clock in and watch the hours tick by while doing the absolute bare minimum...

Like I mentioned before, I'm pulling up to 12-hour shifts, so it's a real pain when I get home... trying to rush out to the rental place just to drop off a movie...

My suggestion:

"Full Metal Jacket".... It's a solid film, incredibly realistic, though perhaps a bit too brutal at times...

I actually think you're looking for "Warrior," and I'm worried it hasn't hit the local rental shops just yet... It’s a solid movie, though. No doubt about that.
I’d be more than happy to give you some recommendations, but I tend to boycott all that corporate trash (I only go to the theaters to help dismantle the system from within), so I mostly stick to renting those B and C-list action or sci-fi flicks. But if that's your kind of thing, you might want to hunt down "Stormtrooper," "Warrior of Justice," "Apex," "Not Once but Twice," or "The Shepherd." Honestly, I could keep this list going until tomorrow. :-)

It really is an awesome film! My only tiny gripe is that you can see the ending coming from a mile away—but hey, since it's based on a true story, what can you do? It's just how it happened!

Every week, I see reviews online suggesting that DVDs offer a pretty even mix of timeless classics and recent blockbusters. But looking at what's actually available at my local video rental shop, it feels like it's just "Cry Me a River" over and over again—and get this, they’re charging me more than double the price for a DVD compared to a tape, which feels like a total rip-off.
