Top 100 songs from 1977 to now

The evolution of rock is rarely linear. It’s more like a slow decay, much like an old house in the Rust Belt. You look at the heavy hitters from the nineties—bands like Nirvana or even the technicality of Dream Theater—and you see the peak before the plateau. Then comes the commercial dilution. It’s all just noise meant to fill the silence of a dying era.

The List is alright, I suppose. Though, looking at it now, I can think of at least ten things that absolutely should have been included. They aren't there.

Not bad at all! Now, if someone could just point me toward a link where I can download the whole collection... I've got a few of them already, but I'm definitely craving MORE!!!😁 😉

It honestly drives me up the wall how these damn rankings always seem to be absolutely crawling with Brits, which is completely and utterly unjustified!!!!
Look at Oasis, for instance.
Are we really supposed to believe they’re a band that actually managed to write more than three of the top 100 songs ever?

Just another one of those ridiculous Lists, and once again, Shepherd is sitting at number one... 👎 , I mean, there's no denying that song had a massive impact on a whole generation of kids back in the early 90s, but this is getting a bit old...

Man, this List is total garbage. Honestly, when those high-end magazines put stuff like this together, their only real goal is to sell, sell, and sell some more... just pure marketing fluff. Whatever. No one’s gonna convince me that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is some kind of masterpiece either...

Beyond my favorite Gerald Alvarez3, I can't help but wonder where my beloved Pink Floyd have gone? Didn't they go on to release quite a few more albums after '77

If you’re actually paying attention, the definitive masterpieces from Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin were all recorded before 1977.

The List is perfectly fine; frankly, it hardly matters who takes the top spot...

Looking at this list, honestly, only those two tracks by Guns actually hold any weight... the rest is mostly filler if you ask me. I don't get why everyone keeps pushing The Clash and The Pistols so hard; it feels absurd when you consider that people who can barely play their instruments somehow managed to write one of the greatest songs of the last twenty-five years... it just doesn't add up. Even that number one punk track holds up much better once you actually sit down and listen to it properly...👎

Which lists are actually legit these days? I mean, even if you don't care about anything else, Dream Theater at least earned their spot in the top 50—mostly because, unlike some of the acts sitting in the top ten, they actually know what they're doing.
