Too easy! It’s basically music for people who can’t get it up.

The definitions are pretty shaky—but hey, if a band is "legendary" just because people keep telling stories about them, then I guess we’re talking about the Stones - legend of Mars chocolate bar, or that myth about someone getting a total blood transfusion in Switzerland...
And "cult status"? If a band is actually cult, I clearly haven't heard of them. Maybe they mean PPP—short for Pajser po pička. Seriously, though, anyone else remember that underground band from the late 80s in Chicago?😉

For me, the absolute legends are:
Alice in Chains
but if we're talking cult status, it's gotta be:
Dinosaur Jr.🙏 🙏

Every time my buddy has a few drinks, he starts rambling about seeing Queen live—says it was one of the greatest moments of his life. I don't consider Metallica a legend when they're playing on MTV every thirty minutes.

Whatever, Elton John is great too. And whether it's the Beach Boys or if I'm just misremembering, my photo memory isn't working today.

If this is my opinion, then you should be asking me, since you’re all just reacting to what I said! A legendary band is simply the one that blew your mind so hard that when you ask someone, "Who’s a real legend?", you're talking about a group that can never be replicated—the ones you value most. A cult band is one where you feel everyone went absolutely insane over them. Take Eminem, for example; he's cult because god knows how many kids died because of his influence. Or some freak like Marilyn Manson. The Doors and Led Zeppelin are cult classics because people went totally wild for them. Even that guy who played piano like a beast—someone remind me who that was—and Elvis... get it?

I’m still lost here.
I basically have a degree in logic—are my brain cells quitting on me, or are yours just not firing on all cylinders? And seriously, kids killing themselves over Eminem? Good grief... unless we're talking about a Black Rose comeback.

No debate needed regarding Maiden. Unlike those other bands that just appeal to teenagers looking for some vague sense of rebellion, you actually need a bit of brains and some social awareness to really grasp what Maiden is singing about in their lyrics. Sure, they throw in a random filler track here and there (like Runnin' Free), but hey, even they're human.

On a totally different note, responding to Bryan Barrett. That thing you brushed off as a signature isn't a "RADIATION HAZARD" sign—it clearly says "DANGER: MOVIE TAPE AHEAD." 😁

Actually, I mentioned him just two posts before you did.

I guess when there's nothing else left. 😳
But honestly, most people just don't get it. 😉

The absolute legends: Ludwig van Beethoven, The Beatles, and Iron Maiden.
The cult favorites: Burzum.

Peace. 😁

Bryan Barrett said:Man, Tibor, you’re actually calling it. In twenty years, Dream Theater is gonna be absolute legends and Led Zeppelin will still be the ultimate cult band. 😉 🙂

So what—you think Dream Theater is just gonna be playing on MTV rotation for the next two decades??? Yeah, right... 🙂 🙂

Yeah. Dream Theater and eMpTVy.

Anyway. Both those bands (Led Zeppelin and Dream Theater) are just brilliant... hard to even categorize them. Still, Led Zeppelin takes the edge for me. Their music... there aren't even words for it...
