Exactly... they're fine... but nothing more than that. They don't really have those moments where they feel like a cohesive band, it’s more like he’s just having his moments as a guitarist... if you want to call that a downside. Personally, I have a ton of respect for his work, especially when he's sober 😉

Absolute legend on the guitar! My personal favorites have to be tracks like "Mary Had a Little Lamb," "Crossfire," and "Texas Flood." If you’ve checked out the new Fender Frontline, you know he was playing in 12/8 time—using those incredibly thick strings where you seriously have to be a top-tier guitarist just to keep up with the tempo. That beat-up Stratocaster of his is legendary!!!

I haven't actually read that Fender Frontline, but I've known for ages exactly what gear Stevie uses, from the strings all the way up!
That No. 1 might just be the ultimate guitar; it's incredible. I’m a fan of Lenny too, though personally, I think he’s still got a massive collection of Stratocasters and other guitars tucked away somewhere.
I'm not entirely certain, but I have a hunch the neck on that No. 1 came from a Gibson bass, though I can't say for sure.

Even some low-rent Tex-Mex garage bands don't play that petty!
That band is nothing but heavy commercial trash.

Don't even think about swapping out those strings before you've spent at least a year tearing through sheet metal with shears.
And honestly, even then, it won't do squat for your tone—you'd probably need something like ten amps just to get that kind of massive wall of sound.

So, the record is Texas Sugar/Strat Magik—it sounds like Stevie if he was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, plus the rhythm section is killer,
not like those hackneyed posers in Double Trouble.

What else is there to say besides wondering why God takes those who should have stayed with us? He left behind so much for us to cherish, and he truly became a legend... I was flipping through a Fender catalog today and saw they produced 100 units of the SRV Stratocaster... honestly, I'd love to hang one on my wall just for the hell of it. To me, Stevie is the purest blues guitarist out there. That sound of his—it’s something that won't show up again anytime soon, maybe never. What are your thoughts on him?

An unforgettable sound... To me, it’s easily the best clean tone out there. Did you know he played on those 13s? Honestly, in my book, he's the best white blues guitarist to ever do it. (And maybe just the best blues guitarist, period.)

As for the SRV Strat, I'm pretty sure every single guitarist dreams of owning one. 🙂

He’s damn good.

His version of Little Wing is actually twice as good as Jimi's, and I really do love Jimi.

Apparently, he tested three different string sets, and his G was actually thicker than his A... now, I don't know how much truth there is to that, since people love to embellish legends, but regardless... that kind of sound...🙏

A stylistic hack who relied entirely on technical drills and nothing else. In my eyes, he’s nothing more than a decorative figure in the world of guitarists. 👎 👎 👎

I've got two different versions of his Little Wing, but something’s tripping me up...

In one of them (the longer cut), some guy starts singing and then right at the end of the vocals, he says, "Take it, Mark," and then the guitar kicks in.😕

Does SRV have some nickname, or is Mark someone else?
