I’ve never actually used them before, so I have a few small questions!

I definitely need them, but I really need to get started somehow! 😁 I have used one once while I was on vacation at the beach. I don't think I put it in quite right, though, because I felt like it might fall out while I was swimming. 🙄

Anyway, I'm wondering if you can wear a tampon even when your flow isn't heavy? I assume you can, but would you still need to change it?
The thing is, my period always seems to hit right on Saturday nights (when I'm out and about), and I'd rather not carry around bulky pads every single month. 😁

Also, regarding bathroom breaks... do I need to put in a new tampon every single time I go? I mean, I assume I have to, since I'm probably not putting the old one back in, but I figured I'd ask just in case...

I know tampons need changing more often than pads, but does that rule still apply if my flow is light? And is it okay to put one in around 8 PM and leave it in until 4 or 5 AM? Usually, by the time I get home, my period is already starting to pick up, and I really don't want to risk any stains on my clothes. 😲

Put it back in? Are you kidding me?!? You change it and just make sure you have some wet wipes handy if you're out and about, because I highly doubt you're running to the restroom every fifteen minutes.

honestly you don't even have to take it out when you're just peeing, you just move the string to the side and you're good to go.
You aren't peeing out of your vagina, so there's really no reason to pull it out.

The thing is, I've been on the pill for quite a while now, so I know exactly when my period is due—it usually starts sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, which is when I'm out and about.

It doesn't just start flooding immediately, as we all know, but things definitely start moving. Then, every fourth weekend, I find myself having to wear pads under my regular underwear, which is pretty annoying when I'm out. By the time I get home early Sunday morning, the pad isn't just soaked; it’s actually... messy (do I really need to go into detail? 😲 )

Anyway, that's why I'd prefer to just use a tampon for those first few drops, just so I don't have to worry about leaking through my clothes. There you go...

Look, if things start getting a little messy while you're out and about, just pop in a thin pantyliner and you'll be totally fine. But honestly, trying to shove a tampon in bone-dry and then having to pull it out later? That’s just a nightmare. And for heaven's sake, never leave a tampon in for more than three or four hours. Also, I don't know where you're getting this idea, but peeing has absolutely zero connection to your tampon usage because the urethra isn't even near it—unless you count having to nudge the string to the side. And if you're seriously thinking about putting a tampon in at 8 AM and leaving it until 4 or 5 PM, that is just 🤮 way too long 😉
By the way, Always makes those tiny liners specifically designed for thongs too 😉

I honestly don't get this group... one girl can't even figure out how to use a tampon, the second one is popping pills wondering if she's pregnant despite not even having sex, the third clearly thinks she's somehow exempt from seeing a gynecologist because she's a virgin, and then there's the fourth who started having sex before she even finished middle school...🙄

Look, I’m not trying to be rude here... I have no clue how old you are. But since you mentioned being on birth control, I assume you've seen a gynecologist. You could have just asked them about using tampons too.

Look, shoving a dry tampon in isn't exactly comfortable, but I don't get why you're even asking if you need to change it—of course you do! You want to make it to menopause, right? Change your tampon (whether it's dry or soaked 😁) every 3-4 hours. She already answered everything for you; since you've got a dual-function setup 😎, you don't need to pull the tampon out just to pee (it's in the vagina, and you're peeing from the urethra).
Don't mess around with a dry tampon. Just use a liner for thongs instead (or if you're dead set on a tampon, just use a mini one with a liner).

It’s honestly not the smartest move to use a tampon when you don't even have a heavy flow—maybe just stick to the thinnest one possible? It totally messes with your natural flora and all that... which basically just invites a yeast infection to the party. I mean, if tight underwear and skinny jeans are already part of the problem, why add more to the mix?
